So that means that AHPRA doesn't really care about your postgrad, cpd and experience as long as you haven't had education/working experience from those mentioned countries, you would have to take the bridging program. Would you happen to know somebody who has had or is in the same situation as mine? I would be glad to be in touch with him/her if possible. Thanks!

Hi! I'm just wondering if there's anyone here who has had experience working as a nurse in the Middle East and is currently processing or has finished processing their AHPRA registration? I would like to ask if they waived the bridging program or do you still have to take it? Thanks!

That would be really sad (and expensive) . I understand that nursing should be regulated everywhere so that lives are not at risk, but I hope they can do something about the fees. Anyway, I will try applying early next year, hopefully they'd be considerate. Thank you very much ceridwyn!

Thank you for that information ceridwyn! :) I certainly hope that the new changes will make me qualified so that I wouldn't have to take the bridging program anymore. I fear that if I apply now and they ask me to do a bridging program in just a year, I wouldn't be able to save enough for the expenses and I'll be back to square one.

Hi Everyone! This is my first time to write something but I've been reading this forum for a while now, it's very helpful. I'd just like to ask a few questions: 1. Has anyone (overseas qualified nurse) ever been exempted from undergoing the Bridging course? I noticed that UK nurses never talk about Bridging Programs in order to be registered in Australia in any blog. I'm thinking if they are exempted to undergo it or maybe they just don't discuss it that much. 2. I am currently working in Oman and have been here for more than 2 years and I want to apply to AHPRA from here, does AHPRA still need an NBI clearance for me from the Philippines? I can provide a valid one from Oman because I'm here, but it's impossible for me to get one from the Philippines. I have an expired one, the one I got when I left for Oman, do I pass that instead? I'm on the process of completing the requirements, I will be very grateful if someone can help me, there might be things that I'm missing. TIA! :)

I am a registered nurse in the Philippines, I have been practicing this profession for more than 2 years now. Now that I have the required experience to practice both in NZ and UK, I am quite confused to where would be the best place I should register. I heard that UK gives good salary but the taxes are too high. NZ has lots of opportunities as well, however, their registration process is quite complicated. I can't decide where to register. I need your opinion guys. thanks.
