Would you (an experienced nurse) help me? Please?
Its a ADN program in Texas. It's in MLA format, Im not in the program yet, I am a pre-nursing student (about a year left) and all of this is for my pre-req Enlgish Composition class. And as long the questions are being answered by Nurses not just some random google "fact", I can take answers from as many sources as possible. The more the better :) But thank you all for the help, its all very helpful & again the more the better so keep it coming please!

Would you (an experienced nurse) help me? Please?
ok so i have to write a report about the career field i want to go into and im supposed to intervew a professional, experienced nurse. well since i don't personally know any, and i figured i can't just walk into a hospital, grab a nurse and start an interview with him/her, i figured why not turn to allnurses.com! anyways i need you to answer as many of the following questions as possible. i really would appreciate it :heartbeat thank you in advance (1) how important is writing in this profession? (2) how often do you write a day, a week? (3) for what occasions do you write? (4) who do you write to? (5) do you write and/or give presentations? (6) how important is it that the writing be clear and correct for this profession? (7) does clear organization in writing matter in this profession? (8) are high school and college english courses essential for this career? why do you or don’t you think so? (9) do you do research? (10) do you have to write performance reviews? (11) if so, is it important these are written well? why? also in addition to that any kind of advice about preparing for nursing in general would also help round out the report. thanks a million! :)

Texas Nursing Laws.. Need Advice
I live in Texas as well and this is what my nursing program says about the back ground check: "The criminal-background check reviews a person's criminal history at least seven years prior to the date of program application. The check will include all cities and counties of the person's residency during that time period. The following histories will disqualify an individual from consideration for a clinical rotation: felony convictions; misdemeanor convictions or felony deferred adjudications involving crimes against persons, e.g. physical or sexual abuse; misdemeanor convictions related to moral turpitude, e.g. prostitution, public lewdness/exposure, etc.; felony deferred adjudications for the sale, possession, distribution, or transfer of narcotics or controlled substances; or registered sex offender. Exception: If a licensing/registry body, e.g. the Texas Board of Nursing approves the individual to take the licensing/credentialing exam, the individual may participate in the clinical portion of the Nursing Program. (See Texas Board of Nursing information below) However, even with approval from a licensing/registry body, each clinical facility reserves the right to deny access to a student with a criminal background or positive drug screen. In this event, a student may be dismissed from the Nursing Program. " Thats is copy and pasted directly from the Broohaven website... Mine doesn't say anything about traffic warrants.... Are you sure thats what your school says? I'd hope that doesnt apply everywhere I had a warrant from back before I turned 18 and got my drivers lisence

Struggles with finding a nursing job....
Well if your willing to give up so fast because you can not find a job thats your thing. And I wish you the best of luck in finding one. But if your letting one "bump" in the road make you think "nursing sucks" already you should have rethought your career and higher education choice. Im a pre-nursing student and I am aware that it may be hard for me down the road but this is WHAT I WANT! I knew it would be tough and im prepared for that. But if your giving up this easy, your heart must really not be into it..... You should stay positive....If this is really what you want just my
