  1. And by subject I mean cardio, respiratory, GI, Diabetes any disease process you may have trouble with.
  2. Your welcome! The class meets once a week, 3 hours long and it lasts an entire semester. Whatever semester you fail that's what you are going to review on plus validating skills, dosage calculations, fluid & electrolytes and whatever subject you may be weak in she will help explain it so that you understand plus there's a project you have to do in the library that's required in order to complete the class and you will also take a final exam on everything discussed during class you must make a 75 to pass. She does give very helpful tips on test taking as well. It's helpful for the purpose of you need the class in order to get back in for the following semester.
  3. The class size I was in was maybe about 15-18 people and our class went in the evening because I was part of the night/weekend program...the day program class during that time was larger if I remember correctly 20-30 people. You have to submit app right away for remediation and usually as long as its submitted on time you get in however if its pass deadline you do have to wait to remediate the next semester.
  4. The teacher is nice, she's not hard and the class isn't hard...I had to remediate for 105 and happy to say I just graduated this summer!! The class is only on the jeffstate campus.
  5. Clinicals were 6 hrs, some were during the evening/weekend. Once they get dates/times for clinicals you will be put n a group and assigned a clinical day.
  6. Hey Teejazzy2 let me know if u got my message if not I will resend it
  7. and we all take the final exam no one is exempt.
  8. I don't think it's done that way anymore don't know how it's done in the full-time program however the night program we have had calc tests each semester since 2nd and next semester which will be my 4th we have calc tests as well.
  9. Jeff states uniforms are white w/purple trim we do not order the purple ones. And if u are n/w u won't need to order until 2nd semester.
  10. I'm not sure which rule u are referring to however in the n/w program during 1st semester u will have calculations test but passing the calc tests with 90% applies in 2nd semester this is when clinicals starts and u have 3 chances
  11. I'm in the n/w program 3rd semester at Shelby campus and the teachers that I have had so far have been great and they are more than fair.
  12. Awwww....you guys are welcome!!
  13. Your welcome teejazzy2 :-)
  14. Yes those are the two books u need for 103 & 104 u don't have to purchase the fundamentals book now and u wont need terminolgy book until 2nd semester. I purchased the NCLEX review book 1st semester it is very helpful and assists with getting u used to the test taking style and it breaks everything down and what I do after reading chapters in book and going over the notes I will answer the questions in NCLEX book pertaining to whatever chapter and I use the CD as well and it helps me determine how well I know the material if I can answer the questions or if I need to study more! :-)
  15. First semester classes were on mon/wed lecture was on mon and lab was on wed 2nd semester since our class was pretty big one group had lab on tues/2nd group on Thursday and lecture was on Monday so maybe that's what they are referring to we have never went 4 nights a week u will have lab days up until its time to start clinicals hope that helps...unless they are doing something different but I hardly see u guys having lab twice a wk.
  16. FYI.....the bookstore finally has the books listed on website :-)
  17. Clinicals started in March I think it was right after spring break we had clinicals for 5 weeks once a week. Clinical days during the week were tues-thur from 4-9pm or sat/sun from 6:45am-12:45 we had the option of signing up for clinicals during the week or weekend and we were assigned 1 pt it's usually 6 or 7 students in a clinical group our first night we were allowed to work w/ partners just to ease into it then afterwards we worked with our pts on our own.
  18. U guys are so welcome! It wasn't to long ago that I was in your shoes lol. Wish u guys the best and I'm glad to help anytime
  19. @ tvmoore it's no prob u are welcome...u do not need codes to purchase books from amazon/eBay. The code for books applies to if u buy the bundle and along with the bundle u have access to the books online through evolve which is a total waste of time because I couldnt see myself spending hours reading from a computer screen and they are going to make it sound so appealing @ orientation but I was told from other nursing students it's a waste and there are those that think it's great but when I say the BOOK is going to become your new best friend believe me lol!
  20. @ teejazzy they have a certain website to order uniforms from and they come in all sizes including tall so no worries :-)
  21. Some cheap stethoscopes are just as good but it depends on what kind u buy I'm not to sure honestly about the cheap ones I've just heard people say that some work just as good. I bought a Littman because I personally wanted a good stethoscope and I love mine so it's really up to you and how much u want to spend.
  22. U r so welcome....and yes we did purchase our own blood pressure cuff I got mine for $13 @ cvs it doesn't have to be an expensive one because it's mainly for your use to practice u will access to bp cuffs while in lab it's not a problem if u bring your own but I do suggest using the ones in lab because those are the ones u have to use for validations.
  23. We started with 90 students and we now have 70.
  24. They will give u a book list @ orientation with all the books u will need for entire nursing program it breaks down what books u will need for each semester.
  25. I did not purchase the book bundle me personally I didn't have $700, I purchased my books separately from amazon/eBay and was able to save money because they are a lot cheaper and a lot of students in my class do the same. Nursing school is expensive so if there is anyway to save a few dollars to go towards other necessities I advise to definitely do so.
