  1. This summer I am attending summer school(Chemistry) for the month of June and working part time. When SS is out I am going to try to work another job so I can quit my job August 31, 2004. I lso plan to cath up on some leisure reading, moving from my house to an apartment, and trying to come up with a budget for me and my boyfriend. Don't have any kids but will be spending plety of time with niece and nephew riding their toys(mo-ped, scooter, 4-wheeler, go cart) Hopefully I wont get overwhelmed and will be able to enjoy my summer....ohhh yeah I will be doing a lot of partying(Thursday- Sunday) What did you expect I'm only 21!!!!
  2. I have to say to wannabe: Grow up- what does spelling on a post have to do with being a nurse? It doesn't make you good or bad. Hell, she has do be doing something correct to be entering nursin at young age. What is your excuse? like the others said in so many words- chill the F!&% out!! To the silly guys that posted the stuff about Cambridge- you are right- I read it without any problems- so who gives a flying flip of a f!&% ?!? Thanks, wannabe needed that!! To the chica with the horse hobby- do you- I wish I had a hobby- or does shopping and watching UPN on Monday's and Tuesday's count- OhH don't forget American Idol!!!! Have phun, live your life, and sepll thnigs and mses up centinses phor tha hek ov it!!!(That was hard for me to just do):rotfl:
  3. I did the same exact thing but I thik I went to a few more classes. A friend and I did the note swap thing- and i ended up with a B. I probably went to class 12 times- the class was boring and I had already had it at another school that didn't transfer it
  4. online class- intro to nursing(1 credit hour) family life, sex education(3 crdit hours)- this is an elective, i need something to make me full time and an easy a for gpa purposes! lecture class- adult nursing i mon/wed and laboratory fri (8 credit hours) doesn't seem like much but it is from what people tell me!!!
  5. I am a nursing student but I know for a fact that I will be moving to Dallas. I live in Arkansas but I want to give my dad a place to visit when he retires(and I also want to get away from home and the small city) My fiance and I have been looking for places that are close to Dallas but not in Dallas( the crime and all of that aren't very appealing) What are some of the palces I could check out- as far as buying a house or at least renting an apartment for my first year or so their. I want to be close to Dallas Children's Hospital. Put it like this- Where is a nice place to live and raise kids but still be close(30 minutes or so ) to Dallas- I prefer the suburbs. Thanks in advance!!
  6. Before I read anyone's post let me say this- I have a smart mouth. I don't take crap off of anyone. Matter of factly when I talked to the nurse advisor she told me that it was a characteristic that would get me a long way in this type of field. She explained that you wouldn't always work with the most respectful people and when I had to work with mean people I would know how to demand respect. I would tell the disgruntled winch-"If you are so smart, and know so much- why are you a cna and not a lpn or rn?" Make sure you say it in a smart a!! way.(not in front of students) That might work and if not - try this- " No matter how I do it, as long as it is correct , I still get paid and trust it's way more than you" Only use that as a last resort. Grow a thick skin and don't let anyone (boss, doctor, CNA) talk to you any kind of way.
  7. I'm a nursing student and I live in Little Rock. The starting pay for a new RN is $18-$24 dollars with shift diff, loan pay offs, and immediate benefits. The best hospitals to me are Babtist and Children's. I have seen some advertising saying that if you work agency you can make about $30-$36 an hour.
  8. I put on makeup everyday and I'm not about to stop because of nursing school. I put on concealer, lip liner and lipgloss everyday. It isn't much and can be retouched in between class and it is really simple. I keep face wipes(Dove) in my bag and I keep oil blotting papers in my purse. I have oilly skin so by mid morning I usually clean my face and reapply concealer. It takes me about 2 minutes to get my look together but hey a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. While I'm on the subject of grooming- I also carry baby wipes or antibacterial wipes and travel deoderant in my car and use those in the summer when it has been a long, hot, sticky day and I feel like I need a washup. TIP TO ALL FROM MY GRANDMOTHER- Always wear clean, matching under clothes.(I guess she says this in case you have an accident and you are the patient) :chuckle
  9. I have thought about this more( I couldn't stop, I even discussed this with my co-workers) First off is it an order saying that she has to spend time with him? If there is I doubt if it says that it is okay for him to come around every once in a while. I would tell him to kiss my *** the next time he came to get her. If you won't stop giving her a bath to hell with you. Tell him you have her all day everyday and his "be a daddy when you want to " butt isn't needed. Secondly I would take the baby to the doctor, He might be a pervert(don't put anything past a him because he is her dad) It is okay that you only give her a bath everyday as long as the IMPORTANT AREAS are washed. You don't have to have a letter saying you don't want her to have a bath everyday, being her mommy is all the note you need. I WISH I were you because I would tell that sorry SOB somthing. And now I have to question his wife. What kind of real woman think that this is cool? She know that when she was 7 she didn't want a man giving her a bath. I was raised by my dad and at the age of five I would only let him see my chest( I thought it was okay since our chest looked alike...flat) As I got older there wasn't anyway my dad or brothers could see me. Now that I am older if my brother or someone walks in and I have on my underwear ohhhh well. But the thing is... Im older, and I am comfortable.
  10. I am just starting nursing school but want to live in Houston or Dallas. I looked up some things about TX Children's Hospital and it seemed like a good hospital( ranked #4 on top 10 Children's Hospital) Are there any other good hospitals and how is life there. I live in AR which is only a few hours away. I need as much advice as I can about the area!!
  11. When I babysat for my nephew for the summer and when I have him in the winter he has to take a bath everyday!!! He has dry skin also but I think it is in his best intrest to take a bath everyday. We just buy really good moisturizing lotion for him. We want him to get in the habit of doing things like a "Big Boy" and babies are the only ones that don't take baths everyday(babies are newborn to 6 months)
