  1. that bag is giant! but i can see maybe having to have it at different points during school. but very pricey!
  2. what a great tip! thanks for sharing.
  3. there is no transfering. LOL. there are actually about 5 LPN's in my class. a couple even came from MCI. they have to do the whole thing like everyone else. if you want to do a bridge, you should pick another school if you don't want to do the whole RN program.
  4. there are 3 pre-reqs. math, chem, and computer. i am doing them all. and since i chose evening my classes are 5:30-10:30. no financial aid for the pre-reqs. but there is for the nursing classes. it all depends on your situation as to how much you will pay. for some people who have already completed the pre-reqs, they might have a break before the nursing classes start. i will finish them about 4 days before the nursing classes start. oh and pre-reqs can not transfer from another school. that part kinda stinks. atleast half of the people in my class right now have already taken them before. but whatever.
  5. i am in the evening class. m-thur 5:30-10:30. i know that that will change later on and it will be m-f and then weekends for clinicals. yep about everything the last person said. seems to be a lot "easier" to get in. pay more, but get it done!! the pre-req classes are the same times as the nursing classes. you can choose either day or evening. the hours do not change from that.
  6. i am liking the school so far. i have been going for about 4 weeks.
  7. yep, i am doing the evening class.
  8. nope, the computer, math and chem classes do not transfer at all. no matter where, when, or what grade you go.
  9. oh you are SO close!! you can do it. hang in there. clearly you can do this, you are almost DONE!! prayers for you, dear.
  10. sounds like you are very excited. good luck. stick with it.
  11. yeah, i have noticed that the ECPI locations all have different prices. someone told me that it is different for each person. not sure about that. i have to have chem, computer, and algebra. all of which i have already had. but of course have to re-do. whatever. as long as it gets me there. all to gether, is is about 8 weeks i think. some people took one at a time. some did 2 and then one. I am doing chem and then the other 2 together. my bff is at the northern va location doing LPN. she has plenty of complaints about it. but she will graduate in about 6 weeks. and so excited. in my class, there are 4 LPN's that all WENT to ECPI!! LOL. and NONE of the credits transfer. they have to pay the same amount as the rest of us. sucks.
  12. i am going to the location near broad anad glenside.(whatever that location is called, LOL) are you going? i started chem monday. i love the instructor. i wish i could have him for all of my classes.
  13. I did everything in 2 days to get in to the school. I start my chem w/a lab tonight. The chem i took before did not count since it did not have a lab. I start the RN classes in Aug. I have been chasing the dream for years and I am SUPER excited to be doing it tight now. I hope you make the right choice for you. There are so many schools and routes to becoming a nurse. This one is best for me and my family. (maybe we will be in the same classes!)
  14. MCI is ECPI. It is 39,000 for RN and 31,000 for LPN. I am doing the evening RN program. Starting Aug 30th. I have to do a chem w/a lab since my chem from community college was not a lab chem. So I start the chem tonight and will begin the RN classes in Aug. It is very pricey. And I am all about getting all the grants and scholarships I can to cover whatever the PELL and government loans don't. I am super excited!!
  15. i did the same thing when i went into ECPI richmond. i was there for like 5 hours. i was NOT prepared for that. but i knew when i went up there that i would be enrolling. no matter what. i have been chasing the dream of being a nurse for YEARS. right now, this is the best way to go for my family. i am stating RN school Aug 30th with the evening class. i am happy about it. i am also not stupid, i do realize that they are trying to "sell" the whole thing to me. but like it said, i was already planning to enroll. i start the chem class tonight. and then after a brief break, i will start aug 30th with the nursing classes.
