Nudity?
Ha. Ha. No, No, on the contrary. My issue isn't with nudity. My comment was addressing the context. Not ALL comments but many just seem like silly high-school chit-chat. But who am I to say, I'm not a nurse yet. I'm looking forward to caring for the infirm as best as I can. I'm learning that this culture will include all types of intellect (or lack there of). And perhaps the culture may actually need all types. But like I said, I'm not a nurse yet so maybe I should "zip it".

Jeff State or UAB? What do you think?
I'm trying to decide between the two (Jeff State or UAB). If I choose UAB (and they accept me), it would be the 5 semester program. Some of the threads I've read don't seem to favor Jeff State. BUT Jeff State may be easier because there are less classes and hopefully make a higher GPA. Atleast that's what I'm thinking. But if Jeff State is really a nightmare, I would rather UAB. UGH!! I can't image it being so bad??

Jeff State or UAB? What do you think?
Do you think UAB is a better program? Is it a harder program?

University of South Alabama Accelerated Nursing Program
"toughitout Re: University of South Alabama Accelerated Nursing Program I am in the traditional program at south. However, I have heard that the accelerated program went too fast. Word is that you learn more with the traditional than with the accelerated. Good Luck!!! :)" Toughitout, THANKS FOR THE SCOOP!!!

Jeff State or UAB? What do you think?
Help? What to do? Should I go to UAB or Jeff State? BSN vs. ADN isn't an issue for me just now but having a high GPA and being a prepared nurse when I graduate is the main concern. What do y'all think? What is your experience or what have you heard? I'm nervous to jump in without knowing the scoop.

UAB will no longer hire an ADN?
Apparently it will not effect RN's already working at UAB but rather new hires as of last month. I'm not sure how or what to think about it. Happy to hear they hired your friend!

Anyone attended previous Nurse anesthesia school and withdrawn
On what grounds was your classmate dismissed? That must have been brutal for you.
-
Nudity?
.....common sense, maturity, respect for the profession and obviously naiveté. By all means, strip and discuss.....

UAB will no longer hire an ADN?
I was told by a reliable "insider" that as of last month, UAB will no longer hire nurses with Associate Degrees, ONLY Bachelor Degrees in Nursing. Any thoughts?
-
Nudity?
I can't believe such as silly comment about stripping naked in front of classmates merits so many responses. Are you guys serious? To even entertain the banter is so demeaning to the profession. And I'm not even a nurse yet!!!

Entrance exam at Jeff State
Just reread your post (I mean Jeff State not UAB) How could you NOT get in UAB with a 3.4???? I am shocked. Were your A&P, Micro, etc. grades bad?

Jeff State point question
SliverofHope, Thank you so much for the great information!! Since you know the scoop and already have a degree. I'm hoping you can answer a few other questions... If you've already taken A&P, Micro, English, Psychology etc.. do you re-take it at Jeff State for the RN program? I completed some for my previous bachelor degree and have been taking A&P and Micro at another community college. I'm hoping I will NOT need to take them again. Do you have to retake anything? I'm calling them tomorrow to get an appointment. But if you have any info I would so appreciate it. Thank you again!!! :):):)

Am I Too Old To Become a CRNA
No way you are not too old. As an "older" person embarking on my second career, I was apprehensive about the process. I've come across many "older" students on the same journey. It was comforting to know there are others out there! GO FOR IT. You will be 47 anyway!!!

Jeff State point question
Hi, How does Jeff state evaluate an application if you already have a BA degree and have taken some nursing pre-requisites like AP, Micro, Bio, Psy etc. (everything but chemistry). I am TRYING to get an answer from them with no luck THANKS!!!

Do you consider yourself a creative person?
Dear SRNA and CRNA: Do you consider yourself a creative person? As I see it, it is inherent that at CRNA is incredibly technical, detail oriented, focused, type "A", finite, etc. etc.. Just curious if anyone's perceptions of themselves is as a creative person (perhaps big picture person?)? Does creativity exhist during the day to day tasks of CRNA? If not, are you a "creative person" outside of work? Furthermore, can these dualities coexist in a successful, happy CRNA? Can't wait to hear your thoughts ~
