Thanks for your reply! I actually wound up reading another thread and seeing that you all found out and saw everyone's scores/points. I have not yet applied, I am applying for the Summer 2013 LPN to RN bridge program. Our deadline is March 2013. I'm taking 2 summer courses right now and 2-3 in the fall (all pre-req's for the bridge program). I am currently a NC licensed LPN, but I actually completed my LPN program up in NY.

Did anybody get in? How soon after applying do you find out?

I know this is a little late, but just saw this thread. @Lmthompson87...did you wind up getting accepted? Or do you still have time before you'll find out? I'm a LPN and am trying to get into the LPN to RN program that starts Summer 2013. I am taking A&P1 & PSY 150 this summer semester and will be taking A&P2, COM 110, and maybe ENG 112 in the fall. I have PSY 110 to replace having to take PSY 241. After that I should be done with pre-req's, deadline is March. I plan on going to a nursing information session in June even though it's not required for current LPN's, I figure maybe they'll give me some more info. I hate trying to meet with admissions because none of the advisors ever seem to know anything about the LPN to RN program. I figure our point system is probably close to the regular RN point system. Also, did you study for the TEAS? Thanks in advance for any info!

Hey everyone!!! Just a warning, this is long! So just a little info about me, I graduated from an LPN program in NY last June 2011. I moved down to Greensboro, NC 2 days after graduation, took the NC boards here in August 2011, and got a job at a doctor's office within 2 days of passing. Fast forward 1 year and I am ready to go for LPN to RN! I wound up quitting my job after 6 full time months due to excessive pregnancy sickness. I am still pregnant, due in August. So in addition to the 6 months work experience, I am taking classes at GTCC. Right now I am taking PSY 150 & A&P1 as summer courses. I plan on taking A&P 2, COM 110, & ENG 112 in the fall. The packet online for the bridge program says that I need PSY 241 or 110 also, I have 110 transferred in as an A, so I'm hoping they take that. Now to my question. What is the minimum amount of ranked points that you have heard of people getting in with? I know they only accept 30 people, so I'm a little nervous. It starts in the summer, so I'd be applying at the end of the fall semester. I'm thinking that at that point (providing I get B's or above) I should have at least 38 points or so, just from classes, not including the TEAS or any additional points. I plan on also applying to Forsyth Tech & Randolph. I believe they have fall start dates though. I will have a baby and I know it will be hard, but I also have my husband and my mother will move in with us if I need her to. DTCC's program sounds great but you need at least 12 months full time experience IN a hospital or nursing home...so I figure my back-up plan if I don't get accepted to any of those schools will be to work full time at the hospital for 1 year. Does anyone know of any other programs that are worth applying to? I don't mind driving up to about 1 hour, although I'd like to stay within 35-40min from Greensboro. Any advice?

And the books they give you come in a HUGE box and it's HEAVY!

Thanks everyone! One of the things I wished I knew when I started was how each teacher is different. That's not something I'm able to explain, you'll figure it out as you go on and you'll learn what each teacher expects and how they differ. Good luck guys, stay focused. P.S. Within 2 days of passing the N-CLEX, and only 1 month after graduation, I received 2 job offers and had an interview request from a 3rd company. I took one of the jobs. There is work. Don't worry

It's official! Just got my results. I am now a LPN licensed in North Carolina!!!!! See, BOCES is a great program!

Hey! I found the N-CLEX to be easy at first, then got progressively harder. I heard that's a good sign though because it means you're getting the easy ones right, so they ask the next "level". Everyone's questions are different, so there's not really a set category to focus on. I ended at 85 questions, the minimum. I was never much of a studier in school, and it was the same for this...I only studied for maybe 1.5 weeks ahead of time and my studying consisted of going through all my notes (kept every.single.page.) and just re-reading things that I was a little sour on. I also bought a book by Exam Cram that had a CD with practice exams. I did the practice exam (which works just like the actual N-CLEX) 3 times and all 3 times, it ended with the minimum amount of questions. That was all I did to prepare. And leave early, I left a little earlier than I needed to, and wound up getting there with 3 minutes to spare because the highway was shut down. Talk about anxiety attack. I won't get my results till Tuesday, but I did this "trick" thing that I read about online to see if you passed or not, and if the trick is real, then I passed....so we'll see!

Hey everyone! I'm Stephanie, 24, and living in Greensboro, NC. I just moved down here from NY/CT area 1 month ago...we actually moved 2 days after my LPN school graduation! LOL. I took the N-CLEX PN for an NC license yesterday and will have my results by Tuesday. Hopefully I passed so I don't have to take it again! Also, I interviewed for a LPN position last week and I think I got the job as long as I pass. My husband and I only know a few people down here, so meeting some fellow would be awesome!

Hey everyone! I'm Stephanie, just graduated from SW BOCES this June (2011). I moved down to North Carolina 2 days after graduation and just took the N-CLEX PN for an NC license yesterday. I will find out my results Tuesday. If anyone has any questions, hopefully I can help to answer them in a timely fashion...I know waiting is the WORST! Congrats to all those already accepted! Work hard, stay focused. It's scary when you see how many people both drop AND fail out, but as long as you keep focused, you'll pull through. There were plenty of times that friends and I didn't think we'd make it, but we did.

I can't "confirm" that the test is on 9/2...but that's the date that was listed on the email I received, so I'm assuming it hasn't changed. Then again, who knows?! They could test us earlier to see whether or not we've been studying.

I know this is over 1 year old, but what wound up happening? I'm in the same situation right now. My school told me I can apply for the Wells Fargo Student Connection with a co-signer, but I don't know how hard they are to get. I have bad credit, but my co-signer has AMAZING credit, owns his own buisness for 30+ years, etc.

Hey everyone!!!! Orientation starts in only 1 week from today!! Can you guys believe it? I don't know about for you, but my summer FLEW by. I hope everyone enjoyed their summer though, I know I did. From here on out, we're all going to be working hard! I can't wait to meet everybody and get started with the program. This is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time and I am so happy that it's finally here. Hopefully we can create life-long friendships in the process of advancing our careers!
