St Barnabas Hospital (bronx ny)
Hey Kace22. Do you happen to know what are the hours of the night shift? 730-8am, 700-730pm? He recruiter told the nurses work 12 shifts, does that break down to 3 shifts per week? How are the benefits? Are the nurses overwhelmed? I'm 30 and the fun person, is the staff cool and nice?. Thanks for responding...

St Barnabas Hospital (bronx ny)
Hello everyone. I have been an ER nurse for the past 7 years and soon I will be interviewing for an ER position at St Barnabas in the Bronx. Do any of you work there? If so, can you shed some light re: the ER, staff, patient population, management, and overall environment? How is the pharm exam? Starting salary for experienced RNs? Benefits? Thanks in advance....

FNP Students @ Stony Brook
Hey... All of the exams are online but timed. I had no problem juggling clinicals. There was one clinical course each semester. Since I work three 12 hour shifts per week, I was able to go to clinical 2x per week. Most of my clinical preceptors allowed me to jump right in, except for women's health. I can totally understand why my preceptor didn't allow me to start doing paps until I saw a bunch and become more comfotable. The hardest part was finding our own preceptors. That process was soooo tedious and frustrating. Good luck with everything!!!!!!!

Need help with NP resume
Hello everyone. I will be graduating from an FNP program this May and I'm working on my resume for future NP jobs. I have a few questions re: this task , as I haven't written a resume on over 6 years: Do you guys find that most NP jobs ask for a CVs or resumes? If a job asks for a CV, do you submit a "resume-styled cv"? Is it ok for the resume to be more than 1 page long? My tentative resume includes: personal info, education, job experience (as an RN), clinical preceptor references. Do i need to inlude my clinical rotations? If so, what info do I provide? How detailed should your rn job descriptions be? Do you include your gpa? I performed a google search for NP resume templates and I am still lost. Please help. Thanks

Any Stonybrook University MSN students?
Thanks NYforlove, yesterday I found 2 potential preceptors at the last minute and will be starting clinical next week. The Stony Brook DSL program is a good one, having to find your own clinical site/preceptor is what is most stressful about the program. I suggest contacting NPs way before clinicals even begin to help alleviate some of the stress...

NYC FNP Student seeking Women's Health Preceptor
Hello everyone, I am a family Nurse Practitioner student nearing the end of my second year at Stony Brook University. I am seeking a possible clinical preceptorship in women's health. I've recently completed 200 clinical hours at an abortion clinic in the city and am required to complete an additional 50 women's health hrs (aprox 6 working days) by June 30th. I have been medicially cleared by my university and allowed to be precepted by either a midwife, Nurse Practitioner, or MD. I currently live in the Bronx but I am willing to travel anywhere within the 5 boroughs. I desperately need to find a preceptor asap or I will fail the course....thanks in advance

They are strongly against completing the program in 2 yrs. I am assume because of all of the required clinical hours. I dont even think that they allow you to go full time.

I heard late march or early april. We set up our own clinicals but there is a database of clinical sites to choose from based on location and where other students have had clinicals
