I got a call from Fran today, I got a spot for the spring! :D I can't make it to orientation next week since I'll be out of town (Fran said I could have a smaller one in January) but hopefully I'll see some of you in class next semester :)

you're welcome, and thanks. I thought I did well on the interview, but found out that I actually did really poorly :/ Probably because I've never had any kind of interview before that. They last usually 20 minutes, sometimes more. It depends on how long your answers are, and you want to give as many details as possible. They're all situational questions like: "Tell me about a time where you... and how did you handle it/what was the result. All the questions (you'll get about 5 or 6) are centered around what they believe to be important qualities to a nurse: leadership, customer service oriented, compassion, ethics, problem-solving, etc... So they'll ask you about times where you exercised those skills. Like, "describe a time where you showed compassion" "Tell me about a time when you had to make a difficult decision" were 2 of the questions I got. And they'll usually ask you why you want to be a nurse. If you go to the CAPS center at Kennesaw Hall, you can schedule a mock interview where they'll ask you questions similar to the ones you get in the real interview (might even be the same one). They film you and play back the video after wards and give you tips.

I got standby status for spring 2011 and I've already applied for Summer 2011. I talked to Fran a few weeks ago and she said that interview letters would probably be mailed out near the beginning of November with interviews in January. But that might have changed.

I dropped my contract off today. I've had a few letters and packages get lost in the mail, so I didn't want to risk this one. And I can save a bit on postage :)

the one good thing about midterms is that they're keeping me occupied, this wait is horrible! I sure hope we find out soon. I think it took the Fall 2010 people 3 weeks after the interview to find out.

I'm just glad I got the interview over and can focus on my classes again. I think I did well on my interview, but I have no way to know. Hopefully we'll all find out if we've been accepted soon. Do they send another letter or will we get an email too? I wish they would use email, at least that would be a little faster

I think my interview went well :) but I won't know if I'm in until possibly the end of October @__@ oy, this wait is awful! D:

At the mock interview I was told that they ask questions based on which qualities they believe make a good nurse: communication, problem solver, ethical, customer service oriented, leadership etc... And you should give specific examples with each situation and give a lot of details One of my classmates had an interview yesterday and was asked: -tell me a situation where you showed integrity -where you showed compassion -where you had to be flexible -where you showed good decision making -Why do you want to be a nurse

I have my interview Wednesday at 4pm. Did anyone have theirs today and can tell us what kind of questions they asked?

I got my letter, I got an interview!

I think so too, but I'll feel better when I get the letter, and the wait is awful xD

still no letter here, though I only live an hour away. I guess I'll find out on Monday

I would say that this time next week would be their definition of "end of July" assuming they're running on time. It could be another month before we hear anything :/ I hate how much longer the spring people have to wait, this is torture! D:

yeah, this is my first time applying, you too? I talked to one of my classmates who's also applying and she was going to bring recommendation letters to the interview (if she gets one). I didn't know that KSU's program accepted recommendations, has anyone brought them to interviews before and know what format they want them in?

I'm also applying for next spring :) I'm pretty happy with my grades (3.7 gpa, 91.8 on TEAS and 6 A's and 3 B's in my prereqs) but I'm uber nervous about the interview if I get one. Some of those situational questions I'm not sure I have an answer to I emailed Fran a few weeks ago asking when the interview letters would be mailed out and she said they should be mailed by end of July. Although, apparently they told the students last year applying for spring 2010 that the letters would be out by the end of July and they ended up arriving at the end of August. Hopefully it doesn't take that long this year! >
