Hey Nikki -- Turned down Marquette today. Really wanted to hear from MGH and San Fran before making the final decision but I think, like you, I'm going to go ahead and send the Vandy deposit. I'm most psyched about Vandy. What's your first choice?

Hi ADEcstatic - Exactly, Vanderbilt is a yes and USD is a no. Go figure - I don't get it either. Beyond the obvious admission criteria, I believe there is a huge luck component in the process because everywhere it seems that the applicant pools are huge! I'm sure these decisions must be tough for the schools since they obviously have to turn away so many qualified people. Hopefully we'll get the UCLA news no later than week's end. Good luck!

Hi Sugarplumkitty -- I received a letter in the mail from USD; wasn't asked to interview. Have you been following the USD forum...a good number of people have been notified. Excited to see how these others are going to play out before making a final decision.

I didn't get into USD either Bethany. But all is not lost, I did get accepted at Vanderbilt. Still waiting to hear from USF, Mass General and UCLA.

Could it be that she got into the BSN program?

I'm just catching up on the "news" (or lack of it) and these posts are hilarious. I guess before the internet people just sat by their mailboxes in isolation waiting for an answer. This is much better. UCLA website still says no decision.

I don't think you will have to wait much longer. Got the letter today in Los Angeles. I was very excited to see the word "Congratulations" as I stood there unfolding the letter with my breath held (ACNP direct entry). Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the insight. That really sucks! I'm in CA and the nursing programs here are just as saturated as they probably are there. The state-sponsored schools are only accepting in-state applicants. and many have stopped even keeping waitlists because they're just too long. What if you did a BSN program in CA for ADN's at a private CA school, like Mount St. Mary's in LA, would you be able to sit for the CA exam then? There must be alternatives out there. No interview and at the open house, she said phone calls go out about 5 weeks after 2/15. She tries to call people because she knows that decisions and plans have to be made. Classes start 5/24 (I think, I have to confirm from my notes.)

Hi Mase15, I'm sure they would take these issues into account. I went to the open house Jan 31 and MM said that while 2/15 is the deadline, if things trickle in a few days or so after, it's not going to be a killer issue. They seem pretty laid back about it. Good luck!
