University of Houston Victoria Second Nursing Degree
HI Kstar101, I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit more about the program. I'm thinking of applying for this spring and wanted to know more about it cause it's relatively new. What is the average cum gpa, science gpa, and teas coming in? Is it a competitive program to get into? Is it really hard? How are the professors? I personally know about 3 of them because they taught at a nursing program I used to be in. Thanks!

Help! I quit nursing school and I might want to go back.
I actually was doing pretty great, making A's in clinicals. I guess I just had an off day and failed my final by 1 point but it doesn't even matter how you do in the course if you failed the final, you failed the course. At least in my program. I will definitely think about it some more, it's not something that I want to do right away. Thanks for all your advice!

Oh. Do you know how many people enroll a session? I can't find much about their program online. Also, is there an interview process?

Help! I quit nursing school and I might want to go back.
Thanks you all! I went to a pretty horrible nursing program so when I do go back, it will definitely not be that one. I've had other friends who attended different programs and they loved it so I guess I just had a bad experience with this program. I'm just afraid they won't let me into a different program because they think I'm a quitter. =(

Oh. I see. I have a 3.6 overall but around a 3.0 for my sciences so I'm not sure how that will go. I'm thinking of applying for spring 2011 but I'm not sure if I will get in.

Oh, do you know if that was their science gpa or their overall gpa?

No yea, I thought it was funny too. I wasn't sure if she was just trying to get me to apply. Can anybody tell me any more information on it like the acceptance rate, average GPA and hesi and any more info on getting in? I couldn't believe what she was telling me because then it's the easiest program I know of to get into.

I see and I completely understand that but I was just wondering why it seems so easy to get into if it had such a high NCLEX passing rate. I just thought it was weird. Thanks for your input born2be1! I really appreciate it!

UT Arlington Academic Partnership BSN Program
Hi everyone, I just found out about this program and had an advisor call me today (which was really impressive) and tell me about it. According to her, as long as you meet the requirements to enter the program, you're in and there is no limit on spots. This sounds funny to me because I've never heard about a nursing program who didn't have limits or an average gpa and hesi score. Maybe because it's a fast track online program. Has anybody gone through it and can tell me more about it? Like the amount of people who actually get in and perhaps the gap and hesi scores? Thanks!

Hi, I just found out about this program and I was interested in this as well. I spoke with an advisor today and she told me that as long as you meet the requirements, you're in the BSN online academic partnership program. Also, there's not really a limit on the entering class because the partnership hospitals are fine with this. Is this right? It sounded funny to me.

Thank you all for your advice. I'm actually looking at an accelerated online program now as other nursing programs. The lady at the accelerated program said that as long as you meet the gpa requirements, you're almost guaranteed in, which sounds fishy to me but they have a 96% NCLEX passing rate. Are there nursing programs like this?

Help! I quit nursing school and I might want to go back.
Hi everybody, I just want to ask for some advice. I was in a nursing program a few years back and I absolutely hated the program I was in. It was horrible and I always felt as if the teachers were no help. I did fine but halfway through I failed a final and ultimately failed a course although I did great in clinicals. I decided to quit afterwards because I felt as if nursing was not for me. Well, fast forwards a few years and a degree later, I kind of regret that decision. Now I'm not sure if I hated nursing or the program. My question is if I was to go back now, would it be difficult to get back into a program because they saw I quit and failed a class? What should I do? Thank you!
