So I have decided to decline the UTA waiting list and will be attending TWU Dallas for the Fall. I am very excited! Can anyone explain to me the computer competency credit/test??? How do I know if I need to take the test? I am a transfer student and am not sure if I need to get that taken care of.

Thanks megreen, It was a long shot, but still dissapointing. I am just glad I have a back up. I heard too many horror stories from last app period to not apply to other programs. Good luck to those still waiting!!!

Email is new this year. I just emailed my advisor and got an out of office. I am so ready to know!!!

So I called to see if they would tell me if today is the day and the lady who answered the phone transferred me to someone who of course did not answer. This is going to be a LONNNG day ...

From what I have seen in previous boards , both program's acceptance/regret letters are sent at the same time. Hopefully that's the case again because I applied to both :)

@MEGREEN is it under FA Future enrollment? I got an email a while back saying that we needed to input our own projected hours for summer/fall/spring here. Thay would be so awesome if the FA office was leaving "clues" to acceptance though, lol. :) And for anyone curious about the promise grant, I called FA yesterday and they said that if you qualify you should see updated grant information on myMav in the next few weeks when they start disbursing the funds.

Did everyone receive the orientation/vaccine/background check email today? I can't believe orientation is on May 3rd, that was fast! am still waiting to here from a few more schools, but am def. happy to be learning more about the process going forward. Is there anyone else waiting to hear from other schools?

Has anyone received an acceptance to another school but their first choice is UTA? Orientation for TWU's program is May 3rd and my advisor told me we could receive letters via email as late as early May...I wish all of the universities around here did the acceptance notices at the same time, that would make things much easier.

@megreen & @nikkib376, speaking of FA, are either one of you familiar with the Mav Promise grant? I know my husband recieved it for his degree in History, but I'm not sure if its the same for the AP program. I saw on the website that UTA is still issuing the grant, but no real specifics on if certain programs are excluded.

Hi everyone! Just checking in with all of of you who are waiting for the end of April like me. I already heard from TWU and thankfully it was good news, but I REALLY want the AP program to work out. Here's to hopefully a short month of waiting!

Check your emails! I just got my acceptance letter about 30 minutes ago! I PRAY this is not a false alarm, but it looks like we have until April 5th to say yes or no.

Hi All! I am also applying to UTA for Fall 2012 for both AP and the Traditional track. I'm not partnered and like most people have discovered late in the game that this is a big obstacle for the AP program . I have also applied to TWU Fall 2012 as a back-up. :) I am done with everything except Tech Writing, Patho, Pharm, and Intro (taking Patho, Tech writing, and Intro this sem). My Stats are as follows with no additional considerations: Science: 4.0 Overall: 3.7 HESI: 93 overall Now its time to wait... :)

Loly82: That is so wierd, because I called my insurance and they told me titers were covered...hope that is right. I am lucky to have no out of pocket costs for insurance except co-pays, so I better do some double checking! For those of you who went to the health department, did you use med. insurance there as well, or is it all out of pocket?

Wow! Full time work, that is amazing. I work full time now, but if I get in I was going to try and knock it down to PT. How do you do it :) ??? Thanks for all the great info and I have decided just to keep speech for Fall '10, I feel like dropping it would def. be a disadvantage for me at this point.

So will anyone be applying to TCC or WC sans a co-req? I am seriously considering dropping out of speech before the start of the semester so I can focus on my science, but I would be so upset if I didnt get in based solely on that decision...I have one bonus course done, but I think I should probably just tough it out and take the speech class...I just keep telling myself...its only 3 months...! Hoping some positive self talk will keep me sane this semester. :)

I am taking Micro Chem and speech...micro and chem both online w/ campus lab, so hopefully they wont kick my butt! I placed to take math 0350, so I thought I would go for it in the mini mester...but I really need a night class. I wish the mini mester schedule was already out! So how long did it take you to get an email from the WC lady? I called this morning and she said she would email me, but I havent got anything yet...impatient I know, lol. I just have so many questions and with applying to both schools I want to make sure I get everything done. One last question for WC applicants...does the Chem at TCC class cover the math prereq at WC? Hopefully, because I guess I won't have it otherwise.

I am not sure if they give extra consideration for vaccines, but I am getting mine all done..including some titers, next month. I called Care Now and they told me they do TB testing and vaccines there, so that is where I am probably going to go. I know for sure they want you to start on the HEP B vaccine, as it takes 6 months to complete. I have a physical scheduled for next month, so I might just wait for that because my doc has a lab onsite. I figure if they see you are getting everything done in a timely manner it can do nothing but help your app. I am going to call WC today and see if I can get the packet you mentioned...that would be helpful. Another bonus class that is kind of low on the radar is HECO1322 diet and nut. therapy...EASY A! I took an ITV class summer II and it was very similar to the basic AP I concepts...very general stuff. Does anyone have anyone have any experience with the mini mesters? I will have to take my math comp. in the wintermester...but I need to take it at night... Does TCC offer night classes in the mini mester? I have only gone in the regular semesters and the summer, so no experience with the minis :).

I am applying for Fall 2011 as well...both TCC and WC, with TCC being my preference....I am trying to get everything done before Jan, UGH...so much to do. :) Has anyone had a meeting with the nursing advisors? I sent in for my transcript audit today so I can schedule my appointment, just to make sure I am on track. I have been stalking these board for months and am so glad there is a Fall '11 board now! Oh and for those trying both WC and TCC...how dis you get more info on the WC program? I looked on the site and it says it's under construction...the catalogue has some good info, but I was hoping they would have tons of info like the FAQ's on TCC's page.

Yeah, I just got my Grade for A&P I and I got an A...so hard! But Dev. phsyc is not too bad, I just finished that class to and I learned alot, so I don't feel too bad about not needing it, but it was a bummer finding out I technically didnt need it. Hopefully the requirements stay the same for a while, I would hate for something else to be added or taken away!

Yes, it is HECO1322 Nutrition therapy, I called on monday to confirm...There are still ITV class slots available for summer II, ...that is what I signed up for. I figured that once people start noticing the change that class will start filling up like crazy! But good luck! It looks like they are excepting more people than in the past, which is great!
