  1. Drewseph92,! As stated TraumaRUS, I have seen many people do the same route. I have only been doing flight nursing for the past 4 months and truly enjoy it. You have to give 100% of your time through academy and after that there is continuing education each quarter. I just finished ACNP school the beginning of the month. I have spoke to many doctors and board members and they said that an ACNP new graduate who have experience with flight nursing looks good on the resume. As you had stated flight nurses will have 3-5 years experience in ED/ICU prior to even being hired. A new graduate ACNP who may not have many years of experience compared to a ACNP/flight nurse with a minimum of 3-5 years of acute care would be more appealing to a hiring manager in my opinion. But that’s just me!
  2. Hey guys so I decided to go with the Flight RN route. I have roughly about a year of ED experience with 3 years of ICU under my belt. I got hired on and cannot wait to start but had a few questions. I am about to finish my NP school in June and start this April for rotor flight nursing. I plan to work as a flight RN for a year before I attempt to find a NP job (AM I MAKING A GOOD CHOICE?) Is it possible to work as an NP full time and an NP? I know I've heard that people do flight nursing part time with NP fulltime. Just wanted to see if anyone is currently doing it. Any advice for gear will highly be appreciated ( I will search through the forum too).
  3. The general course classes are taught through devry faculty. So you will have to check through the devry online book store or you can go to the campus bookstore and show them your schedule.
  4. Thank you for your quick reply. I was stressing for a minute but all is well. Thanks again
  5. okay thank you!! Another question if i may ask. I know how chamberlain is pretty strict saying if you don't get an average of 76 on All pre-licensure nursing courses you can't pass the class. What is considered pre-licensure courses? Is microbiology considered pre-licensure course or is it the main nursing courses that they are talking about. Ex. nur-222, nur-224 etc. Thank you
  6. Hi i have a question someone can possibly answer for me. I am about to start the class Nr-222 will I need to start wearing scrubs for that class? If not, when will we have to start wearing scrubs? I know people say you start wearing scrubs when clinical start. What exactly is the first class that incorporates clinicals.
  7. does anybody know if students have to wear scrubs to class everyday? I know most of nursing schools do but i wasn't sure if Chamberlain does.
  8. I had everything paid off at least thats what my advisor told me. I guess thats one of the downfalls with Chamberlain College, them handing out schedules a week or so before classes start. Thanks for the information :)
  9. Has anybody got their schedule yet? I feel bad but I have been bugging my advisor the past two weeks and she keeps telling me that I should know by the end of the week. Has anybody have had the same problems?
  10. I think you should be fine I applied last summer for the october start and got accepted with a GPA of 3.5 and a HESI score of 89 %. But i decided to start this upcoming spring semester. But i think you shouldn't worry to much with a GPA and Hesi score like that. Hope to see all you guys this upcoming semester.
  11. Hi everyone I too will be starting this upcoming semester. I was just looking at the website and was a bit concerned. I was told that chamberlain college was accredited which is true. But according to the website it states that the BSN program in "Arizona and Addison are candidates for accreditation by NLNAC". So please correct me if i am wrong, does that mean the BSN program in Arizona is not accredited yet? I'm worried that I will be spending all this money to go to a school that might not even be accredited. Does anyone know when they will have their visit and become an accredited institution? Once we do compete the BSN program and the school is still seeking for accreditation or is still not accredited will we be able to sit and take the NCLEX? I just did some research on the Arizona State Board of Nursing approved programs and it was on the list. The list stated that it is approved by the CCNE and NLNAC. What does it mean if is has an provisional approval of 11/2007? Should i still be worried?
  12. Teddy: are you going to be attending the arizona campus?? I thought that they did not start until the last week of October?
  13. So my application was reviewed today and it's on hold until September 9. which I'm goin to be stress until then. Anybody else who got there file on hold????
  14. Hello miss v, Did you apply for this up upcoming October? start?? If so did you write an essay for part of your application because my advisor told me that they stopped the essay?
  15. Fsunole86- I find it easier to email them!! Who is your advisor?? Mine seems to always answer my question the day I ask them or within 24 hours!! So I just retook my exam and didn't do as well as I planned to. I revised A 88.5. Honestly what do you think is m chances with a 2.89 Gpa??
  16. According to my advisor they actually stopped the formal essay. Yes she did say the earlier the better. I did awsome with math and now I know what to work on! Thanks again!!! :)
  17. I have a 2.89 !! Yes my deadline is on Friday and I do take it on friday since the next meeting is on the 29th.. How long did it take you to find out that you got accepted?? Thank you and congratulations!!! Hopefully we will be classmates!! I will keep you updated.
  18. I'm actually turning my application this upcoming meeting!! :) I'm afraid that score is not enough so I'm deciding to retake it and hopefully score higher!! If you don't mind me asking how was your hesi score comparing to mine? I thinking I'm just stressing myself out!!! :)
  19. Hi everyone I was a bit confused when they said that they need a minimum score of 75 on the hesi a2. I was bummed that I only got a 77 but my advisor stated that I was in good shape because they required a minimum of 75 on the reading comprehension and math (which I recieved an average of 86.43). So apparently she said stated that they primarily look at the reading comprehension and math part and look at science incase of a tiebreaker. Can someone clarify for me
  20. I was talking to me advisor and she stated that the first meeting would be end of July. According to her we would know during the begining of august!! Can anyone else clarify because I keep on hearing other dates from other students! Okay so I just got my hesi score and scored 86.43 averaged between the reading, math, vocabulary and grammar!! My gap is 2.89!! Advisor stated that I can retake my test if I wanted but I would not be able to turn it in this meeting. They would look at it at the end of august. The advisor told mantis sooner you get it in the better chance you'll get in!! I need some advice should I retake the test and turn it in next month or use my 86.4.. I'm so paranoid that the score is not high enough!!
  21. Hi everyone it's me once again. I take my HESI exam in a couple of hours. I have been contemplating on which order i should take the test. Do you think I should do what i find easy first then go to the hardest or do you think I should start with the reading etc then move on to the science parts? I need some advice. Thanks!!! fsunole86- Is that true you can only apply once a year? Did you read that on the website or did your advisor inform you?
  22. I have to take my hesi entrance exam in 2 days. How would you rate each section from a scale of 1-10? 10 being the hardest? :) or like above said which was the hardest section? I'm i stressing too much or is it just a basic test? (aside from the science sections)
  23. I was speaking to my advisor and she stated that if you have a 3.0 or above and average the HESI in the mid to 80's or higher you have a very good chance of being accepted. I too applied for this upcoming session. I currently have a 2.9 GPA and still haven't taken my HESI. Im really nervous hopefully everything turns out for the best. Well you should know of your acceptance pretty soon because they meet at the end of every month!!! Goodluck I have my fingers crossed!!! Keep us updated!!!
  24. Hello everyone I just had a few question people might be able to answer for me. I am applying to schools out of state and majority of the schools require me to take the HESI EXAM. Instead of flying out of state does anyone know any schools in Washington that might offer the HESI entrance exam? Thank you
  25. Hello I am also applying to Chamberlain for this upcoming fall BSN program. If anyone doesn't mind telling me because i am such a nervous wreck what there GPA was and HESi score. I have an average of 2.89 and haven't taken my HESI test!! With my GPA do you think i would have to score high on the HESI exam??? Thank You
