  1. Hello everyone, is there ever a balance. Are we expected to work until we have nothing left. Are we to be treated unfairly. I am mentally and physically discouraged. I work so hard and it never seems enough. As I cross one bridge it's like a mountain is a head. I remember going through school and thinking just hold on a little while longer things will get better. Well it's been several years later and I am still saying just a little while longer things will get better.
  2. hello dave, thanks for your response. A lot has happened since this post. I am doing a lot better. I have found employment that I enjoy that will get better and I am starting school soon. Life is good and it can only get better. I have made some very difficult decisions, but they are in my best interest. I wish you all the best for the coming new year.
  3. Thanks for this web-site very positive. I think fear has played a huge part in my life. Life I don't drive out of fear but it leaves me so sad as there are so many places I want to go, which are not in walking distance and I miss out. I love to read but the book store is miles away. When I got married I moved out of the city. I love where I live but you have to drive to really enjoy life here, and my hubby gives me a hard time when I want to drive somewhere. But fear are not I am going to start driving, because once I start driving it will make it easier to move on. I kinda feel sad, as I have only been married for 3yrs.
  4. wow, thanks for the great response. I one point I thought my career was affecting my marriage but now I have come to realise that my marriage is the problem. My career is great and will get better. The marriage on the other hand is going downwards fast. I am sick and tired of feeling unhappy or pretending to be happy. I was so happy and free when I was single. I am not very emotional and I married a man with no emotion. Here is the kicker I can count how many times I have held my hubbies hand. Crazy. No more for this new year I am going to eat better, exercise, enjoy my career, sleep better, enjoy life more, and walk away from this unhappy marriage. I know the road a head may be hard but I have been through a lot and I have always made it through. I will be fine. In fact once I told my hubby we should separate his response do what makes you happy, no emotion no care. I welcome your feed back.
  5. hello all, does your career affect your marriage?
  6. Hello everyone, thanks for all your positive replies. I now look at my disappointment as a blessing. I truly believe that I am where I am for a reason. This particular field will provide the skills needed to open the doors to many great opportunities. Plus I'm going back to school can't wait another great experience. Thanks again everyone have a great holiday.
  7. hey all, how do you deal with disappointment in life, work, or education etc. how do you know your headed down the right path. I am currently in a healthcare area that I like and I have made plans to further my education in this particular area but then i saw another opportunity in a whole different area and I put my energy towards that new path but things didn't work out so I am continuing in my original area. Should i continue with my original plan. I welcome your thoughts.

  11. hello all, after a long day all I want to do is relax and read my book followed by sleeping. On the weekends I have no desire to hang out with anyone nor go anywhere all I want to do is read my favourite magazine or play on the computer and may be watch tv no other interest. My hubby calls me boring almost everyday. Maybe I am boring but I love calm activities my days are pretty long and busy. Any feedback.
  12. hello all, here is my question if you had to choose working in family practice or working for a specialist which would you choose. Also if anyone has experiencing working with a specialist please share. Thanks.
  13. Hello all, ok here is my question, all opinions welcomed. If you recently started a contract position would you continue job hunting and what if you got a job offer for a permanent position would you accept the new position or stay in the contract position, keep in mind you have been in the constract position a very short time, so giving 2wks notice would be super awkward. thanks
  14. I am so happy for you. Sometimes we have to try different things before we find what we love. Take care, and all the best.
  15. I wish you all the best. Remain positive, it's difficult to be out of work in this economy. I really hope you find something that you enjoy. Keep us posted.
  16. Hello all, what would you do? I have been job hunting for quite a long time. I have yet to find suitable employment. I really don't know what area suits me so I am applying for all areas. I have worked in community my whole career. My question is how did you decide what area was a good fit, the economy doesn't help. Also has any considered or is currently employed as a clinical teacher if so how did you enjoy it, what were your concerns, what are the pros and cons of the position. Thanks
  17. I would like to thank everyone for their support. I am trying not to look to the past but rather the present moment. I will never forget this time in my life, for it has helped me to develop patience. The interesting thing I don't feel anxious anymore just numb. I have worked my whole life since the age of 16. I have been in this profession for a few years. I am no longer looking for my niche just job that allows me to leave on time, with maybe a little bit of interest. Once again thanks for all your support. It reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllly means a lot.
  18. Hello all, have you ever felt defeated? if so when and what lead you to feel defeated. Also how did you overcome feeling defeated? I can honestly say I feel defeated. I have no fight left in me. Both my professional and personal life is currently taking a beating. I do not know what direction to go. I am in the long process of job hunting and so far every opportunity is either too far or the hours are not do able. I have always tried to live a good life, this is my second career. It's really hard right now. I really need encouragement, my faith in really being tested. I feel really confused when it comes to spirituality what role dose God play in my life?
  19. Hello all, this is my first time posting in this thread, but I have found encouragement reading the many post. I have decided to follow another path in this profession. I would like to pursue OR nursing. Keeping that in mind my goal is to take the operating room course. I have recently left a very stressful job and thus I have been job hunting for quite a while now. In the beginning of my job search I received a few offers but declined because I was so stressed and could not decide where in this profession I belong. A few years ago I was given the opportunity to take the OR course all expense paid but I was afraid so I declined. But after careful soul searching and crying and praying, I took a personality test and I was directed to a role in the OR environment. I am not seeking employment to pay for my education and other expenses. There are a few places I have signed up with that I am waiting for a response. Everyday I search for employment for hours at a time. I really want this opportunity. I am a hard work who values this profession. Some days are better than others, I have received a few interviews lately but the distance is too great they are 2-4hr away. I even went as far as to ask for my old job back but it not get it. So I feel discouraged because I have found an area of interest but I have no means to afford it, and I my expenses need my attention. Thanks for the vent.
  20. I am currently thinking about pursing the OR field, so I cannot provide any personal opinions but I will say this remain positive. Do not give up, if this is what you really want keep your head up. I really believe that nothing good comes easy. I wish you all the very best in your new and exciting career.
  21. Hello OR nurses, I have been searching for my niche in nursing. It has been so frustrating blindly job hunting not knowing where I fit. I have been in this profession for a while now and yet to find my niche. I have resently resigned from a stressful job of which I did not have a passion. This morning I woke-up and decided to reflect on what I enjoyed in my previous job and he came to the conclusion it was the minior surgery component. I am in the process of reviewing schools to get my certificate but I also need a job. The demand for this area is quite high. My goal is to find and afternoon job while I do the certificate course. I am really excisited and I feel motivated. I had an opportunity to take the OR couse years ago with full schlorship but declined out of fear, but this be my second chance. I really would like some insight if this is wishful thinking? I also did a personality test for area of nursing most faviourable and anesthesiology followed by derm but were my top two choices. Please I would love some feedback my last position was next to last on the list. Thats crazy. I really motivated I just need a second chance at this, I just need a job while I am in school. I am praying so hard, for God knows I have been looking for a direction, just need something to finance my goal. Thanks:yeah:
  22. Hello all, which area of the hospital do you enjoy and why?
  23. Hello fellow professional, thank-you for your informative response. I am really giving this form of work a lot thought. I am looking for an area that suits my needs. I wish you continued success in your new chosen area, may you always be happy.
  24. I would like to add that I really love this profession. All my experiences have advanced my skills.
  25. Thanks everyone I feel so encouraged. I know that God will take care of me, but the waiting is hard but thats when faith comes in. I wish everyone all the best, may you always enjoy your job.
