  1. I was offered a position, but declined. One more spot for someone else :)
  2. 19 people is great! I have my interview this friday for the ICU...what unit did you interview for? I'm assuming it is a panel interview???
  3. I have a question about the documents that I will need to bring with me as I fly into the US (I am a Canadian citizen). I already have the Visa Screen Certificate from CGFNS, passed my NCLEX, have my BSN from a school in Georgia and have my CA license. So the only things I need to bring with me are: - Visa Screen Certificate - NCLEX results - CA license - Transcripts and/or copy of my diploma - Job offer letter from the hospital I will be working at - Passport Is there anything else I need to have/bring? Also, I am engaged to marry an American citizen, so I plan to apply for my green card through him (I have no idea how this process is done, but will worry about that later). My question is: should I not mention this through immigration because it's my understanding they want to make sure my intended stay is tempory (obviously that is not the case).
  4. Hey Roxygirl. Thanks so much! I don't have any experience as a CNA or really any hospital experience. I do have my BSN and also my Bachelors of Health Science with good GPAs. I don't know if that helped my application. Good luck to you!
  5. Hey roxygirl, I got a phone call from them 2 weeks ago and she said I was selected to move to the next step which was completing a career battery assessment. She said only a very small group of ppl were selected to move to this step...probably becasue they have some internal candidates that they will be taking.
  6. 310-825-8141 is the number I called. I didn't ask for anyone specific, just asked for the status of my application to the woman that picked up the phone.
  7. I just called today for an updated status of my application and the woman looked up my name in the computer and then put me on hold so I could talk to Sherri. She wanted to schedule an interview with me..so I'm going tomorrow morning..and then have an interview with the unit director of the liver transplant/sicu unit in January. She didn't mention anything about the icu's not hiring. I would recommend calling them..
  8. @QRN22: haha i know exactly what you mean...I majorly debated today whether I should bring my phone with me into the gym! I decided against it today but from now on its coming with me :)
  9. @betra123 and vanessaRN: I'm from in-state...let me know if you guys hear anything!
  10. I also applied for the ICU and no call yet...My number one choice was the liver transplant/surgical ICU. My second and third choices were either CTICU, CCU or MICU all at RR (I can't remember which two I chose and in which order). It really doesn't matter to me - I just want an ICU position! So no one has received a call that applied for ICU?
  11. That's great ValentineTheBSN!! When is your interview??
  12. Congrats everyone for getting interviews!! It's good to hear they are scheduling them in December and not waiting until Jan! Hopefully some of you get job offers at the interview :)
  13. @monkeysarecute: where did you hear they are only hiring for the ICU's? Just curious because that is what I applied for and I have yet to get a rejection email......although now that I have posted this, a rejection email is probably being sent to my inbox! haha
  14. I completely agree..I'm also Canadian and completed all my schooling in the states, passed NCLEX and STILL had to do CGFNS. I think it's a complete scam and a waste of $540.
