  1. I agree with the many who have replied. If you must do this paperwork.... then do it, BUT make sure you document for the time the patient has been in your care. Anything outside of that is falsifying medical documents and your license is not worth someone else's laziness.
  2. I completely disagree with your teacher. I too started as a new grad in Critical Care. Cardiac ICU, and It can be a monster and overwhelming, but as the other people have stated, with the right motivation and support it is so rewarding.
  3. I really don't mean any disrespect, but why is this in the CCU forum? this is a question that needs to be addressed in the student forum.
  4. Just as a side note.... UOP is NLNAC and accepted by all hospitals. Just check into the options offered. I am a UOP student for my RN to BSN and as others have stated i don't believe they have a straight RN program. Good Luck to you. I know how it feels to have to juggle many hats, and I love my online classes, nothing like going to class in your PJ's with your coffee.
  5. All in all at the end of the day you have to be satisfied with your decisions. You keep your patient alive and ultimatly corrected the situation. You are the only one who has all the information needed to re-evaluate the sequence of events. We can all give an opinion but we are doing so on assumptions of bits and pieces of the patients condition. It's always nice to ask for others input and opinions but keep in mind just what they are and at the end of the day it's you and your decisions that matters to that patient
  6. There are companies out there that are medivac flights on fixed wing crafts. You are a flight nurse and do transport patients from amjor airports to relocate them to different facilities. Usually though the company owns these planes and they are leer jets and such. You can pass meds, start IV's, transport vents extra. The planes are really cool, they are converted inside with whats called a medpack. and its basically a stretcher that latches and buckles in instead of seats. Check out website ccmedflight.com
  7. Don't we as nurses also need an outlet... people do many things to relieve stress or just get things off their chest. This is a great forum to express your frustrations and have others reply with understanding, its a way to to know you are not alone in your feelings and that is normal. It is certainly more professional to destress on this thread than to let things fester and unleash in work place which is unprofessional.
