  1. Wondering how long most people study after graduation, for NCLEX? Weeks, months?
  2. For those of you that took NCLEX recently, are there questions in all content areas, or do you recommend focusing on certain ones? Thanks for the help.
  3. Hi Should I take the NCLEX in state I am going to school or where I want to work?
  4. Thanks everyone. If anyone knows anyone that needs a subleter, let me know. I start the Externship in a few weeks! Never been to Ft Worth, so any great restaurant or other suggestions for people in their 20s, let me know. Thanks.
  5. Thanks The Commuter- Is Arlington too far? Any young people there? Any ideas how to find a TCU area sublet? Not many are on Craigslist. I am going in a few weeks and still don't have a place. Thanks.
  6. How many Clinical Hours are most California BSN program students getting? Is there a minimum to be licensed here?
  7. Hi I was wondering how many clinical hours students are suppose to get in a BSN program? Mine doesn't seem to be enough? Are people mainly getting med/surg? Thanks
  8. Hi I will be going to Ft. Worth for a summer Externship at Cooks Childrens Hospital. Anyone have any suggestions where I should live, or how to find a nice sublet or roommate? I am coming from out of state and have never even been there before. Thanks
  9. I had mine a long time agao too. It was a weird type of interview compared to others. She was calling from Nebraska and didn't know anything about the program. I haven't heard anything, and was told we would know by now. Maybe they lost the interview results..ha. Well here's hoping.
  10. any one hear yet about UCLAs summer nurse Extern program?? Still waiting?? Should I email and ask when, or not bother them and wait. I have another offer, but would rather be in LA.??
  11. I was told they would let us know a few weeks ago. Any one get in yet??
  12. what types of questions were on the talent plus interview? I heard they were a "weird" style?
  13. can you PLEASE give me some ideas of the questions they asked you?? thanks
  14. Hi Anyone ever do the UCLA summer externship? What types of things do they ask in a phone interview? How did you get chosen? Did you get clinical hours with patients or mostly observe?
  15. Hi Lindsy5 are you still ever checking this site?? Unfortunately I did not choose this program and now have some regrets..but was wondering how it's going?? I have a friend interested. What is the student body make up, mostly older students or new grads? Is the program hard? Have you started clinicals yet? Thanks for updating me.
  16. Any advice on how or when you can find a summer externship to get more clinical time? Are they ever paid or you just volunteer?
  17. Thanks for your suggestions. Are you working now as an RN? Did most people in your class pass the Nclex exam? Do they help you prepare for it in some way?
  18. Sorry, last question...how did you go about arranging the clinicals on your own? Will hospitals/clinics in the area provide clinical hours that aren't part of the program? Aren't we suppose to get diverse rotations as part of the program and not 3/4 in the same area? peds/mat, adult, psych etc? I need all 4 areas to return to my home state? Thanks again!!!
  19. What do you mean by independent studies for extra clinical hours? Can you do an independent study class and get credits for volunteer time at Meriter? Do you recommend certain clinical sites more than others that students seemed to prefer? ( not sure if we ever get a choice really) Did you review for the Nclex as you went along the program rather than all at the end? Thanks again for your input. ( actually it took me a few times applying to get acepted !)
  20. Any advice or tips for the program since you graduated already?? Thanks
  21. Are you on facebook? I wonder if there is a way to contact you that way too? I have to decide this week. I wish I could have gone there like you did but ran out of time. I am from San Diego, so it would be great if I went, we could meet in CA before we started. I am leaning though ,toward attending U of Wisc-Madison, where I graduated last week and just get a BSN. I have gotten split opinions about the CNL and am just not sure how to decide. Some have said to wait for a Masters until I know what I really want to specialize in, others think this would be good since it's only a semester longer and then you have a Masters completed...Had you thought about a BSN route instead? The program itself sounds good. I guess it's a mix of people attending (age wise), which is often the case with nursing. Any other thoughts?
  22. Hi Where are you from? I haven't totally decided yet as there are so many conflicting opinions about this type of degree. I may just end up getting a BSN instead. What is your decision based on? Have you seen the school? Are you a recent grad? Let me know. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
  23. Thanks and keep the comments coming please! The cost isn't that much more, and the time is bascically the same, an additional summer for the CNL. There is a slightly different class focus, with theory, leadership, case studies etc, but to sit for the NCLEX there is still clinical hours and rotations. I wouldn't use it at first, to get a few years of bed side nursing, and may never use it. So I either will have two Bachelors degrees, or a bachelors (sociology) and this controversial Masters????Not sure what to do?? So many mixed opinions on the value of a CNL ??
  24. CNL Masters vs BSN? Anyone seeing the use of CNL ( Clinical Nurse Leaders) in the work place? I need to decide in two days which program to choose, both are 2 years for non- nursing degree holders. Not sure about the value of the CNL...help?
  25. Anyone know about their CNL Masters program? Is this a good route to take or just get a BSN instead?
