all i can say is -- wow you're really persistent! ive found that the books I was given to study from did not help. One of the books that I used (that completely changed my way of thinking and how to approach questions) was Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination. I passed the first time with 75 questions, thanks to this book. I also used Kaplan and I've found the only thing it did for me was make me familiar w/ the NCLEX style. The questions were similar to the NCLEX, but the NCLEX was MUCH harder. Best of luck to all you future RN's!

sounds like you already have one of your objectives already -- knowledge and learning of the field.... And since you don't know anything about it and you'll have to do some research: Incorporate findings of nursing research in the delivery of nursing care of oncology patients Another can be: Identify scientific rationale for nursing interventions. Don't think too much into it. You probably know what you want, but it's harder to put it into words when you think too hard. Hope that helps! :-)

once again... im in the program, i know of people who had a less than 3.0 cum undergrad gpa who are in the program... in my class. lol i dont understand why theres an argument here. you cant argue the facts! well... you can, but thats just ridiculous.

i dont wear my wedding rings!! the only thing i wear is my $8 watch from walmart... that thing is only worn in the hospital and gets cleaned on a regular basis. i love the responses here... some are very entertaining (and funny) and ive learned a few things! nice! and i cant wait for my gold medal!!

it's not considered professional. when you're constantly washing and scrubbing your hands, the nail polish chips off really easily and makes it look unprofessional. ive never heard of the bacteria one. do you think maybe it's because when you have nail polish on you're really careful to not chip the polish and therefore you're not scrubbing your hands as you should?

YES UMDNJ will accept people who have a lower than 3.0 GPA because there are people in my class who had a GPA lower than 3.0 and they're in the program with me!! don't say no if you don't know. yes the program is exhausting, im experiencing it firsthand. a lot of people come to realize that they either did not like their first degree, nor were they serious about it because perhaps they were a little immature at 19/20 years old and truly work harder at it the 2nd time around. I agree with 8packmurse that you definitely have to decide if this is what you really want. this program is NO joke. i came into it thinking, "oh this will be a piece of cake, what are these people talking about?" you actually find yourself second guessing if your first career really was so bad. the professors try and make it easy as possible for you by not coordinating more than one test a day or even per week, but that doesn't always happen. there was one week where we had three tests and a quiz, and we all found ourselves pulling our hair out. no matter how easy or nice the professor is, the material is extremely difficult. my question is -- isnt nyu harder to get into than UMDNJ??

i know some people who had a lower than 3.0 cumulative gpa and got into UMDNJ. i say try for UMDNJ. just keep in mind that spring and fall semesters are very competitive, whereas summer is still competitive, but much easier to get into. i know people have already received their acceptance letters for spring, so it's filling up really quick!! apply ASAP, i think today, nov. 1st, is the deadline for spring 2011 i agree, nyu is ridiculously expensive. if you're willing to pay that much for school, might as well spend the money for the application fee for umdnj...

whoever has been accepted into the fall program already knows it. the fall is all full, so full that they had to close off applications for it bc they were rec'g too many. whoever applied within the past month or so is getting info for spring '11 now. best of luck!

annoying... im taking a course at BCC right now and applied for the associates program thinking it was going to be a piece of cake to get into since i already had my bs... but i wasnt accepted because they told me i havent fulfilled the pre-req's for the course, nor met the minimum GPA... yet i also applied and got accepted into umdnj. i fulfilled the pre-req's for the accelerated BSN program there... strange, dont you think?

just bought all my books online... all 13 of them i think hah... how was your first semester?!!

anyone know their class schedule yet? trying to figure out right now what to do about books bc i dont feel like being charged an arm and a leg for them. speaking of which... i got my last vaccination yesterday and can hardly lift my arm!! cant wait

curious-- how was orientation? i got a phone call from one of the professors at umdnj newark to attend a pre-class seminar to brush up on terminology and math.
