songbird, I know exactly what your going through!!! It is so tough because they wont tell any of the alternates where we stand on the list. Im at Cyfair and I am losing my mind waiting . I think that the alternates will get called up in December at both campuses. Im dreading that I might have to retake the Hesi again!!Keep me posted on any changes with you!!

Hey everyone, Fist of all congrats to all that got accepted into the program!!!! I currently applied to Lonestar Cyfair, and I am on the alternate list. I am trying to get my ADN and then my BSN. I am a die hard UT fan, and I can wait to be accepted to UTH one day. I was just wondering if there are any who applied to Lonestar Cyfair program, who got accepted and will be dropping if they applied and got accepted into UTH? Again, congrats to all that got accepted!!!!!!

Which Campus are you an alternate, Cyfair or Kingwood? Im an alternate at Cyfair so I have a lot of information about the alternates at that campus, but I dont know anything about Kingwood.

I have finished all my paperwork for admission, vaccines, and physical. I am getting my CPR certification tomorrow. I am planning to go Monday or Tuesday to get my background check. The only bad thing is there is a lot of alternates this semester and you cant find out were you stand on the alternate list. They have called one alternate in for the Spring Semester so far!! I am sure hoping that I get in this semester because I am spending a lot of money in hopes I will get accepted, and I dont want to retake the Hesi exam with the extra portions added on. All I can do is get my paperwork in and sit and wait.

Thanks for the info about Quest, it sounds like a good program. I think I would play to much if I only took online classes. I think I need to sit in lecture with my personality lol.

What is Quest? I keep hearing people talk about it, but I have no idea what it is.

How did you find out there is one alternate spot for kingwood? I am an alternate for Cyfair and I will be going crazy until I get a call!!

Hahahaha Im so tired from my mini vacation that I did not realize I said "I did not leave a letter from KW." I meant to say I did not receive a letter from KW.

Congrats to all the KW applicants!!! I got home today and I did not leave a letter from Kingwood so I am just an alternate with Cypress and I am ok with that. I filled out all the forms on the nursing form link and I am getting my physical on Tuesday and Wednesday I am driving to Houston to turn all my papers in!! I have a good feeling that all the alternates are going to get into the nursing program. There are a lot of applicants who applied to many different schools and some of them are bound to decline. I know we may be a little bummed but there are a lot of applicants who wish they received a alternate letter, at least we are not completely denied. Keep praying and we will all get in!!!!

I am sitting in Santa Fe NM and I am freaking out that they sent out the kw letters. I know this is a long shot but I hope there was space for me in my second choice. I'm not looking for anything but just the possibility is driving me crazy. There could possibly be a letter in my mailbox and there could not be a letter. I live in an apt so I can't have someone go check my mail ahhhhhhhh. Well I will be home Sunday to check the mail. Congrats to all kw nurses and to those who are an alternate I know how you feel. Just remember there is always a chance we can get in!!!!

I know!!! I looked at some houses in LA and they looked like shacks for half a million dollars. There prices are crazy!

Hang in there destintobea!! I called KW today and they said in 2 weeks they will mail them off. Yesterday she told me it would be real soon, and today its 2 weeks. I feel like Im calling up there so much that if I did get on as second choice they are going to cut me for being annoying lol!!

Hey FruityPebble, what part of Cali are you from? When I was 18 I lived in Sherman Oaks area for a year. Its so freaking expensive in Cali so I had to move back lol. I cant believe how long the wait is for nursing school out there plus the lottery system sucks. Could you imagine if you had a perfect score and you didnt get in because they didnt pull your name in the lottery. OMG I would go mad!!

I have no clue what the cutoff is for Kingwood. I called and they said they cant give out any information. I am hoping that I get into Kingwood since it was my second choice!! Im am also hoping the cut off is not not as high as CyFair. Good luck tammyw31, I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

I think both accept around 50 students, but I could be wrong.

Hey tmrine my letter does not actually say when it was mailed, it just says it was mailed from zip code 77433. Keep your spirits up and your letter will come soon. Hopefully you will be an alternate with me and we can stress together lol. Also we still have kw letters that will be sent out soon. I have a great website that I will find and give to you for the hesi test. I made a 98 on the reading hesi. If you want to brush up on math there is a great book called Math for Nurses by Vikki Raines. She tutors up at my college in Temple and she is awesome. Her book that she got published is great!! It shows how to do every problem that will be on the Hesi test and all the problems are worked out step by step in the back of the book. Had I had an A in Eng 1 I would of had an 11.912 and then I would have been in for sure.

hahahaha kmbrlyw I would so take your spot. I also want to get my BSN and then get my masters. I have finished all my pre-reqs for my bachlors, but I need to study for the hesi ap portion. Good Luck with UH, it would be awesome if you got in everywhere that you applied for and then you get to pick where you want to go.

That makes me feel better! I just called up to Cyfair and I asked how many alternates they have this semester, and she said it changes every semester and she can not give me any information. She said I might get accepted into kw or I might be an alternate on with them as well. She also said that they let alternates in all the way up till the first day of school. I guess I should just move to Houston when I was orginally planning to just in case I get accepted. Now I have to go through more weeks of anticipation and hope for Kingwood.

I allowed myself to have a pitty party for about 30 min and then I said "hey suck it up, you still have kw and you still might be able to get into the cyfair program." I am really hoping I hear some good news with kw, I just want to get into a nursing program so bad!!! I guess I should count my blessings that I am an alternate. I am just amazed how high the cut off was this semester.

I feel the same way... I was and still am devistated!! We just have to keep trying!

Thanks FruityPebble!!! Its nice to know someone has been in my shoes! She said that they fill the spots up first for Kingwood and then they do second choice. I feel like my chances are not that good to get into second choice because Im sure the spots fill up fast. This is my third time to apply. I guess I can say...well I have been denied twice at least Im moving up to an alternate lol.

Im so upset that when I called Kingwood I didnt really understand what she was saying.
