I'm in the same situation. I work full time at a health dept M-F and I plan on attending school part time online in fall 2013. I work closely with a FNP. I was told that my clinicals can be done at a urgent care or clinics that open in the evenings and weekends.

I have applied to GWU for fall 2013. I have heard great things about there program. I have been looking into walden but have not decided if I want to apply

For those that started in sept, what are your current reviews about the program so far? I am thinking about applying

Your welcome. I applied for RN clinician 1 positions and the new graduate program at the same time, so I sent it the letters of recommendations because the program required it. But I am not sure if the RN positions require it. I have applied to every hospital in hampton roads also. I had a panel interview at bon secours mary immaculate last week. They had 17 positions open there but I did not get selected. All the positions there are filled. I would call the recruiter. She is very nice and will work with you. I am currently waiting for Maryview to call me for an interview. Riverside only have new grad positions in the nursing home. Chesapeake is not hiring new grads til the summer. And Sentara has a lot of positions open but it seems so hard to get in there. I put in at least 15 applications with Sentara all over hampton roads. So I started looking outside the area. I applied to UVA, MCV, bon secours richmond, and Rex in Raleigh, NC.

Hey I applied for the program last month for the same reason. The new graduate program position is for may 2011 graduates only. The recruiter told me that I can apply for the RN clinician 1 positions. I graduated Dec. 2010.

Bon secours new grad program dont start til Feb 6th so the interview process will be slow for now.

Hey I graduate in 2 weeks and I have been applying for jobs since Sept. I have applied at every hospital in Hampton Roads and had no luck. I had one phone interview for Bon Secours.

bon secours hampton roads have a new graduate program for RNs. I currently work there as a nurse extern and they told me that they hire new grads all year round and are the only hospital system who currently hires a large amount of grads. They suggest that I apply for this 3-4 months before I graduate in Dec.

i worked for sentara careplex last summer and i made $10.25/hr for a patient care partner

Hey sorry to reply so late. I only found a few RN positions at the Gateway hospital. I stopped looking cuz my fiance is deploying earlier now so I will probably move out there when he comes back. I would suggest you look into the hospital on post and the VA hospitals.

Thank you for your advice. The job market in VA is tight too. My fiance is stationed at Ft. Campbell and I just found out that he will be deploying around March. So I will probably move out there when he comes back. Hopefully the job market would be better 2 years from now. My last resort would be working at the hospital on post or the VA hospital. I hope in 2 years I would be considered competitive as a somewhat experience nurse than as a new grad.

Hi I will be graduating in Dec. and plan on moving to TN sometime next year. I plan on moving to clarksville and I am willing to travel an hr for work. I am having a hard time finding new grad RN jobs in that area. Do anyone know any hospitals in clarksville or Nashville that hire new grads?
