  1. Hi, I've seen a few ads for new grads for Five star staffing, White Glove, and advanced medical staffing. The only one I've dealt with was advanced medical and they have had open houses for new grad RN's in the past. I hope this helps. Good luck!
  2. Hi, I worked in a detox for about 2 years. I really liked it in the beginning, but after about a year or so, I dreaded going to work. I was miserable, cranky, and just couldn't take it anymore. It's been 2 months and I haven't looked back. You should figure out what's best for you. Good luck.
  3. Hi, just be careful with the accreditation with this school. I was accepted but backed out when I looked closely since many other schools don't accept there credits.
  4. Ok, thanks for the info. I think you will be fine because now you know what to expect. Btw, the ear plugs are a great idea.
  5. Hi, I'm in the program and I've been regretting this school since the end of the first trimester. I can't wait to leave...I'm sick of the lies and the cheating. I would never recommend this school and I hope anyone who reads this understands what is going on. Good luck to all who are here...
  6. Hi, I'm glad your experience has been good at the center. I've had a completely different experience but I'll take ot as an experience. Good luck to you all.
  7. Ok, try and login by going to my assessments or my tutorials and look for the test. If they are giving you a code to login with, make sure that you don't have to use your own code and password. It's a little tricky but after a few tests it becomes much easier. Don't be intimidated, you'll be fine.
  8. Usually, you will get an outline of what to focus on and your teachers will be vocal about it in class also.
  9. They are coordinated with the chapters so when you will be doing chapter 2,3,4 for A & P you will be doing chapters 1 & 2 in the cards and med book. If you look in the syllabus, most of the info should be there.
  10. They read from the book which I thought was weird...that's all they do. I can do that at home. I was expecting a teacher to explain things to me from there own syllabus or curriculum. There aren't really handouts or other things that they give you to learn so that's why I mentioned that you have to read and go over things all the time. Maybe if will be different for you, I don't know who your teachers will be.
  11. I started in the night program. It's been a lot of work which I anticipated but there is also some problems with the school. Overall, it's ok but you need to be real self starter and be able to teach yourself because they really don't teach you that much. I like the staff and teachers are helpful and knowledgeable but they need to have a library, extra books for learning, or even free tutoring. If you do want extra help you have to come in on Sundays and meet with the teacher and she will go over everything. In my class there are alot of attitudes with people who think they are already nurses.(lol) It could be alot worse but I would be interested to hear what you think. My advice is to read and try and stay ahead because if you fall behind you might have a very hard time catching up. One more thing, (you'll know what I'm talking about after you begin) do a little ati every week. Good luck!
  12. Everyone in my class has different types of white shoes. All I'm sure of if that they want it to all white. Running, tennis, or cross training are all ok.
  13. They want all white shoes and everything also.
  14. Hi, the interview is easy! They want to know that you carry yourself well and can speak with confidence. Run the answers form your questions in your head a few times and you will be fine. Good luck.
  15. Hi Tidi, I think you have it backwards. Most of the research I've done and from what I've been told is that there is a freeze for RN hiring because of the economy. Most hospitals do not hire LPN's but most nursing homes do which is where I've seen many job listings. Besides RN's make more than LPN's so it's cheaper to hire Lpn's. As for the Center for Allied Health and Nursing...I'm a current student and overall I think it's decent. Every school is going to have some issues and yes it is expensive but it's right in line with the other competition. The teachers are ok but I agree that they need to work on the teaching standards and other administrations stuff. Bklyn Butterfly 86...Good luck and I hope you like it!
