  1. Got the Good pop up about an hour after testing and Did the quick results WE PASSED!!! I am a true believer in the PVT!!! Congrats to my fellow nurses!!!:yeah::yeah::dancgrp::dancgrp:
  2. Took NCLEX-RN 6/6/11: I had 75 questions it took 1 hour 30 minutes. Husband had 140 questions took 1 hour 10 minutes. We both got the good Pop Up and passed!!
  3. Took the exam Yesterday NCLEX-RN I found that the Sanuders Q&A and Saunders Comprehensive books Newest edition. These 2 books went everywhere with me. I had exam cram and Kaplin which in my opinion we not all that great. ALSO one helpful book for bathroom, redlight, lunchtime , bedtime and anytime reading is Frye 3300 nursing bullets.
  4. :nurse:CONGRATS (I gotta wait 48 hrs for quick results and license to post here in Louisiana 29 hours and counting) :w00t::w00t:
  5. I think you can rest assure you PASSED (CONGRATS IN ADVANCE) My husband and I took the test yesterday..... My computer shut off at 75 I felt totally clueless on almost every question with exception of a few. Came home (In record speed) did the PVT he and I both got the good pop up. We just like you sacraficed a lot to go to school him being 39 and me 38. We were both LPN's. He and I were prepring in our minds to retake the test..... I was not gonna go back to work til I retest too embarrased. After much research I feel the PVT is valid. So relax like I did and wait for the GREAT NEWS!! U ARE A !!!!
  6. I know several nurses who have graduated from the Excelsior Program. One of my co-workers is presently an Excelsior student. One of my Co-workers graduated 3 years ago and was just promoted to RN-Supervisor. One of my Co-workers (PRN) is a nurse manager of an ICU unit at his full-time job. So there are plenty of people who graduate from this program. I thought about it but my husband and I are not disciplined enough to do it therefore we decided against it after getting the material and attempting to study. I tooo feel your pain. After getting the run around with every school in our area with take this and that before you take this you'll need that etc etc. We have be accepted into a program in a neighboring state within one and a half hour driving distance. Sounds crazy but I would rather drive an hour and a half to school for 11 months and have my RN rather than wait with all these stupid waiting list and etc. This school we are accepted into recognizes we are NURSES and since we met requirements toook the challenge exam and passed we were in. Good Luck in your search.
  7. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Why? Why? Why are you so bitter? All she asked was about LPN to RN. I am an LPN bridging to RN. I have no desire to be a doctor and that is my choice not due to lack of ambition or required GPA its just what I want to do. My husband is a LPN as well and could have pursued a career as a doctor (very intelligent) works as a LPN on surgery/trauma floor in a major hospital. He is also in RN school he plans to continue to NP and I want to be a NE. Congrats on your choice to be a doctor but don't knock others in their dreams and don't try to make what you want to do seem like its better or you are superior to others because the same people you step on going up are the same ones you'll need going down. Nurses save doctors everyday........ To the original poster you should do what ever makes it easier for your situation. MY LPN license helped me get accepted into the RN program as the director said (WE LOOOOVVVVEEEE LPN's They are good students and they do well on boards.) FYI...... Being grammatically correct makes your post easier to read and understand.
  8. If Im not too late posting since u said may I am assuming May 2010. If at all possible avoid Delta. #1 Too costly #2 Passage rate on Boards not as good as less costly area schools. #3 Try The campuses of La tech. College that offer LPN On Winnborne cheaper and great program.
  9. Well said.........
  10. As an LPN who is recently accepted in a bridge program. I went that route bcuz that was what was best for my situation. My husband and I went to LPN school and we work as LPN's in a pretty laid back place that allows us time to study.....And you find that employers are pretty supportive when they think they will have another RN on staff soon. Especially if you are a good employee. As far as pay and job security... I have been employed since I graduated.... I have never had a problem finding a job never been laid off or told because I am an LPN i will be let go first. You have to selective as far as where you work. Where I live LPN's work hospitals... I have worked on Med Surg. Unit and my husband on a surgery trauma unit. Three of my class mates work ER As one poster said "Bridge programs may or may not even give you full credit for your LPN education. " Well again in my situation my "LPN Education" allowed me to test out of 5 credits of RN school by taking the ACE I exam. So I will begin school June 2010 and Graduate May 2011. You research and do whats best for you. I dont regret my choice and I know many who don't either.
  11. thecommuter, i echo thecommuter. i signed up......after listening to the presentation and..... i researched when i got home.....do yourself a favor if you chose excelsior go directly through and skip the publishing companies ie: college network, distance learning etc. toooooo expensive luckily for me and my hubby we came home and typed a letter as per terms of their contract and voided our agreement in the appropriate time frame even received our upfront money back (100.00). we decided upon alcorn lpn-rn. there is only one (1) accredited online school lpn/rn for nursing that is excelsior all others are publishing companies once you go through these publishing companies you still have to go through excelsior to get your degree. once you get your rn then you'll other have other online options.
  12. You graduate as an RN get your license......You will get a job.
