I was given a number around 26 an hour base pay which seems like such a pay cut from the 33 I'm making now, which is discouraging in Austin. But in Miami I'm currently paying around 1600 for a one bedroom/bathroom apartment. It seems like Austin is about the same? I definitely don't want to move only to find I'm struggling more financially than if I stayed in Miami!

Hey all! I'm currently an ER nurse in Miami fl with a year experience in the ER and two years in the icu. I'm looking to locate to either Austin Texas or Richmond va (both locations for personal reasons). But I'm wondering if anyone can provide incite to either location, what the hospitals are like, pay, places to live in the city, ect? Any information would be greatly appreciated! The cost of living in Miami is getting ridiculous with the pay! And if it helps I'm 28 years old and moving with my bf who is a rad tech in the cath lab!

Nursing was my second bachelors so I had to kind of go through the same process with financial aid- I'm going to have to take out private student loans with navient (aka sallie mae) to cover the gap

I heard today that I've been accepted to the program with the bridge course! I'm so excited! Anyone else with the bridge course?

I've applied and am waiting to hear! They told me the application was complete on Wednesday and should be about two weeks for a response!

Hey guys! i just got that second letter but im FREAKING OUT! It says I need to take a stats class BEFORE enrollment in clinical sections for spring 2012! I was originally told by an advisor over the phone that all my classes transfered smoothy for the pre recs and I had everything and now theyre springing this on me! I was accpeted to the program for spring 12 and everything! AH! Did this happen to anyone else?!

Hey everyone! So I just got into the University of Miami's accelerated program for spring 2012, and I'm still waiting to hear from MDC for their accelerated program. Besides cost can anyone tell me any major differences between these two programs I should consider? Things within the programs, or after graduating? I want to make the best decision possible! Hi everyone! So I'm totally new here, I'm about to graduate in May from a school with a Communications degree, I decided this summer after some interesting turn of events that I wanted to be a nurse! I had some random prerecs that I had already taken and took a few more this semester. I applied to Barry's second degree program and got in! I did realize after though that the second degree program only starts in Jan? I was going to take a full course load of classes this summer at a cc and then i'd be done my prerecs and able to apply to the actual nursing program for the fall. My question is if I take all those classes this summer can I not even start taking the nursing classes in the fall? Will I have to wait until the spring semester to start? I'm out of state and I want to get through the Barry program quickly as possible! Has anyone had any issues like this? Thanks!
