  1. Sorry to hear about those who did not get in. The good news is that cal state long beach isn’t the end all be all.. keep applying ? I got my acceptance email a couple of days ago. However, I also got into UCLA ‘S program and now I am confused about which program to attend. UCLA is closer to my house, but is also double the price of cal state long beach. I don’t want to leave school with a large amount of debt especially because I still have undergraduate loans. There offer very minimal financially aid which is basically all loans. Have anyone heard about UCLA FNP program versus cal state long beach FNP program ? I also heard that there is a lot of self teaching at UCLA, and that the teachers aren’t as hands on but I’m not to try how true this is ?
  2. I actually ended up taking a internship at the VA hospital in nursing school, but I'm a registered nurse now. Are you in nursing school or a registered nurse?
  3. It depends on what internship you're applying to because all internships are different. Most internships want you to already have had one year of clinical experience which would make you eligible after your first year of clinical's which is the case at the VA hospital. But I know there are some internships that will accept you with no clinical experience but you wont be able to do as much. I would suggest contacting the hospital you want to work at in the future and ask them if they have a internship for nursing students and what their requirements are. Good luck!
  4. @ Journeyman There interview process for the Valor Program entails a group interview then an individual interview right after. I cant remember the exact questions they asked but I do remember they were very general questions such as: Tell me about yourself, and why the VA. I don't remember the questions being too tough. Great program overall!
  5. I have been offered a position at Georgetown Hospital on their medicine unit, as well as Glendale Adventist Hospital on their Med-Surg Unit. Has anyone attended either program, or have suggestions about which one they think I may get the most experience at? Thanks!
  6. Great thanks so much!
