Wow! I have not been reading the board for a couple of days and I am amazed at the amount of responses. I read each and every response and all of you are wonderful and so supportive of one another. No wonder why all of us decided to go into a profession where we all get to give support to others in their time of need. This site rocks and so do all of you!! :lvan:

1st and 2nd night in ER series
Reading this experience for you made me smile. :) Matter of fact I just filled out my volunteer paperwork and will be faxing it in tomorrow and, hopefully, I will be joining them on Sunday mornings. I feel like, although I am nowhere near being a nurse as of yet, I will be making a bit of a difference in the hospital and also learning some of the ropes to working, hopefully, in the ER. And writing a journal of your experiences is a great idea also.

Volunteer in the ER
This is good advice, Andrew. Matter of fact I am going to see if my nearby hospital ER has that volunteer position. Thanks! :)

Hey there fellow previous military comrad! I am prior Navy and I was more into partying at 18 than school also. I guess since there is nothing new under the sun, we were all given our ages in which we would pursue our dreams. Some younger than others. But the important thing is that we start, stick to, and complete the program, right? :)

No, it is never too late to do what you were meant to do. Best of luck to you with your classes!- Late career choice @ 35
I am glad that you realized that your maturity would carry you through at this time. Oh, to be a youngster again...but when those bills start rolling in...- Late career choice @ 35
I feel great knowing that I am not the only one, you know? You guys are like a support group! I LOVE this site! Congrats on being accepted!- Chattahoochee Tech
I go to Chatt Tech also for my prerequisite courses and I love it. My instructor is awsome and explains it all in detail.- Late career choice @ 35

Thank you for the words of encouragement. Congrats on getting to the nursing school portion and best of luck to you! And it is gutsy to go a different career route after the 20's. But once we hit out 30's, we get gutsy anyway.- Late career choice @ 35
Truer words have not been spoken!! So true :) Best to you and your words are encouraging.- Late career choice @ 35
I am good at the hem and haw too! A professional actually. Some of us know what we want in our 20's and sometimes it is just meant for some of us to go our own path no matter what age, I guess. Thanks for the response and best of luck to you with your career path.- Late career choice @ 35
I say the same thing! I did so much lolly gaggy around in my 20's I would have wasted my grant and all. I just was not serious about it. I did the same thing with my youngest being 3 and went back to school but...you know, when you are a mother with a family to take care of, no one is trying to waste that $$ like we do when we are young and carefree. lol Best of luck to you!- A&P 1 Spring 2010
Hi everybody. I'd like to join this discussion if it's alright. I have completed A&P I and passed with an A so if anyone has any questions maybe I can be helpful. :) I am taking all of my BIO's by themselves each semester so that I can focus on that and not have to share my time with another subject. So I may take all of my required courses, gen ed courses and TEAS then attempt to apply for the program and hopefully enter Jan 2012. That way I would only have to do the nursing courses by themselves and not share with any other courses per semester. And I am also taking A&P II this Spring 2010. Looking forward to chatting with everyone here. - Late career choice @ 35
