  1. Out with the old, in with code blue
  2. I had to email them and ask them which one I was placed in. Or you can also contact the advisement center. I believe it is based on time stamps. The orientation for the August cohort is actually today.
  3. Has anyone who has been placed in the October co-hort at Gateway received the info packet in the mail with our schedule yet?? Also, does anyone know anything about how the financial aid works since we start mid-way through the traditional semester?
  4. AZRN2B... I'm at Gateway too in October. It will be nice to know someone else going into the program with me!
  5. mamabear, I am in the same boat. Hoping to get a call for an interview. It seems like everyone who has gotten called has an interview scheduled for next week. (correct me if I am wrong) I can't imagine they are going to fit all 80 interviews in in one week but who knows :/ cscanlon, I don't remember them mentioning a date at the March meeting for when the cohort would officially start.
  6. jennaz, back2class, newbeginning... what week are your interviews? Are they this week or next? Good luck to all of you!
  7. At the March info session, they told everyone it would be 2 days during the week 5:30-9:30 pm with Saturday Clinicals. Hope that helps.
  8. Should we shoot for next Saturday the 15th instead? That might work better for me as well.
  9. I was at the info session in March and there was no mention that the program was being cancelled. In fact, they stated applications for the October cohort would be due sometime in June. They also made reference to the fact that attendance at an info session would most likely no longer be mandatory in the future, which they have implemented already based on what their website says. The only thing being cancelled was the actual info sessions, because they are trying to post the information and applications online. There is certainly a lot of speculation going on! I wish we all knew some definitive answers... Good luck to everyone who applied.
  10. The placement whiteboard lists the placements for the Summer AND the Fall. . There are 30 Part Time slots for Gateway in July. 30 16 month accelerated slots for Gateway in October.
  11. I have the same timestamp. This was taken directly from the Placement White Board: The "oldest" application in the database still awaiting placement for a student that has (5) valid choices and has NOT deferred a placement was submitted on Oct 17, 2008 08:03:58 AM. The most "recent" application in the database for a student that was placed in a public pool that did not require a special application was submitted on Feb 20, 2009 08:02:22 AM. That "public" pool was for MB. So I would say anyone with a 10/17/2008 timestamp will absolutely be placed Spring 2011 if they have not been placed already. Anyone with a 12/2008 timestamp will also most likely by placed, and Feb/2009 will probably be placed, depending how flexible you are. Speculation of course, but it can't be that much longer!
  12. Yes, There were people standing up, sitting on the floor, packed like sardines by the door ect. A lot of people were asking questions about the October cohort though too so I can't imagine all of them submitted apps for July. The July program might not be feasible for everyone though. Did you take the NET or the HESI? They said the critical thinking scores would be THE most important factor... I would imagine they extended the deadline since they cancelled the Jan and Feb sessions. I'm sure the influx of people was probably due to that factor. The meeting was March 23rd, with an April 2nd deadline only a week later I'm sure they figured it was only fair to allow everyone the opportunity to gather their information, retake tests if needed and write essays.
  13. Cscanlon, At the meeting in March there was well over 150+ people there. Combined with people who had submitted their apps in the months prior, that is some serious competition! A lot of people at the meeting seem surprised this wasn't the traditional 16 mo accelerated program, that's why I say that. I think at this point though, flexibility is a good thing! This cohort is ideal for anyone who works a traditional weekday 8-5 job, something they also mentioned at the meeting. For some reason, 50 interviews for 30 slots sticks out in my mind. They did say anyone who passed pre-screen would be considered for an interview, but if 100 people pass, the process gets even more selective... I hope they don't do away with the program either, that would be unfortunate.
  14. Nope. Nothing yet! I'm sure they are inundated by applications though. I hate this nervous anxious feeling! I do wonder though if everyone who applied realizes that the July cohort is a 24 month part time program (2 nights per week 5:30-9:30) with what I can presume will be 12 hour clinicals on Saturdays. With only one cohort running in July, that just makes it even more competitive! Someone please post an update if they hear anything at all. Good luck to everyone.
  15. No worries! I know there have been some recommended books specifically for care plans on this thread and in other posts, maybe those would be a good idea? I'll put the date on my calendar. Banner cut-off date for apps is Friday! I hope they start interviews soon after!
  16. patientlywaiting, was this for a previous cohort or for the July cohort they were interviewed for?
  17. AmandaLeigh, Congrats on getting Married! I unforunately have had a death in the family and will be flying to Utah Sat morning for the memorial services. I know this is when we all planned to meet up, so I am really bummed out. Maybe you guys can meet and decide a gameplan and I can jump in on the next one? Mica, did you get the Banner thing figured out? They said they are accepting the old apps and have extended the due date to April 16th...
  18. No place on the new app to show your pre-reqs.... They just want to see all your transcripts. I do wonder how many applicants are applying and what they are weighing most heavily... (besides critical thinking)
  19. Thanks cscanlon... I have logged into my evolve account but my exam hasn't been posted yet. But that's what I will do, attach it to my scores. Yes, they are due April 2nd. They told us at the meeting Mid-April to Late May they would be doing pre-screen, interviews, and selection. I would imagine they would start interviews after April 16th once they have everyone's apps in. Though, they were very adamant about having your app in by April 2nd, and only later if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. June 11th is the date for those accepted to sign all of their Banner documents...
  20. I noticed as well, the critical thinking scores are not included on the HESI A2 assessment. In the March meeting, they said a large emphasis would be placed on the critical thinking section....How then, would we show our critical thinking scores?
  21. The scores they will take for the HESI: Math:80+ Reading Composite: 80+ Critical Thinking: 600+
  22. Yes, I did receive a new app. I would recommend calling them and asking them for the new app since you are within your one year of attending.
  23. Each cohort (March, July, October) will only have 30 people, and they will all be at Gateway. The July cohort is a part time cohort that is 2 nights a week, with clinicals on Saturdays. The deadline is April 2nd and I don't believe older applications will be accepted. March and October are the 16 month accelerated programs. You must have a 3.0 GPA on your pre-reqs to be considered, and your NET scores must be 70+ (overall, reading, and math) Critical thinking 60+. OR HESI A2 with at least 80+ on math and reading, and 600+ critical thinking. Also, there is a 300 or less word essay you submit with your application. They are hoping to eventually eliminate mandatory info sessions and put everything online but no timeline on this yet. Application deadline for October cohort is June 18th. Hope this helps. Best of luck, it seems like the Banner program is a great program.
  24. Kdoll, No I did not get placed either but I did see on one of the other boards, there are some people with a 12/08 timestamp that were placed. So I think it would look fairly good for us to be placed next semester. I am applying for the part time July Banner Program in the meantime...
