I don't really know what is the worst experience I ever had in the past year,it seems to me like every week I had one.My most memorable was one patient who was admited for CHF and had condition stable till the day I found her.Dr made round about 1530, I found her distress at 1545.I got reported from one of my RN friend and she said my pt had a good day and her LCTA.it wasn't the same lung sound I assessed at all.Both of her lung sound were crackle ,especially in her left side .I asked RT to helped me to set up O2 and page doctor immediately.I knew then she wouldn't make it because her breathing more labored and she was hard to rouse,her eyes were rolled back,she was african american so hard to determined her cyanosis ,but she was so diaphoretic.we end up with sent her to ICU .One of my co-worker came to pat my back and said :she will be alright" I told her she isn't.Later that night she died cause she had aspirated Gastric content .I cried because I took care of her for a past week and I never heard her lung sound never been cleared, I alway kkep her HOB up right 30 minutes after her meal ,I was so disappointed ,so I cried.I still remember her till now

Hi Suzanne, I got a job with Hospital in the town where I live. I will work at Medical floor .My new job will be started on this Monday .I'm so excited . :) I plan to to work for some experiences till next year then I will move to Kansas city . I will let you know how are thing going with my life. Khob khune na ka .:)

Hi, I got a job interview today .It was my 1st time as RN to get an interview.I received Temporary license from MO last Tuesday.They were so kind.They fax me a verification of my license.I droped my application yesterday and I got an interview this morning.I still have another interview with Medical -Surgical Unit manager.They gave me employment package and RN position are opening for 10 positions , so I'm pretty sure I will get a job. Anyway, they didn't mention about I have to take Spoken test . I will let you know the reult.:rotfl:

The reason why I can't get job in Missouri because I 'm obtained license from CA .CA board need to send me endorsement verification to Missouri board. I haven't look for any job yet because I have to wait for temporary working permit as RN from Missouri board of Nursing.It will be issued sometime in June .I can go to CA and get a job ,but my problem is my husband.He hates to live in CA,so I think I work as CNA for almost 9 months ,why can't I wait another month for endorsement process .I talked with human resources and they didn't mention anything about English test or Spoken test ,so I assumed it will be ok for me to get RN job in MISSOURI. I don't know about how can my friend got visa ,but she didn't marry with an American.Maybe student 's visa Anyway, I will let you know :rotfl:

Hi, I just called Missouri board of nursing and KAnsas board of nursing about endorsement. They said" I don't need to have any experience before I can be eligible for Endorsement for RN from another state " I haven't start to work as RN yet Suzan.I'm waiting to work as RN in Missouri because my family is in MIssouri .Most of foreigners who can't wait to get the results from CGFNS , TOEFL and TWE . Because they don't know when they will be able to pass those tests choosed to deal with CA,NY ,FL and NV board. It take only 4 -6 months to be reviewed document and when you found eligible you can take NCLEX.I'm sorry I'm not trying to be rude .I didn't even plan to take TOEFL ,but I paid it before I met my Chinese friend who work in TX,who gave me information about easier way to get license in USA:) Lucky me ,I got 207,level 4 from TWE as they required.I didn't plan to take CGFNS for the 3rd time ,but I got the result of my NCLEX test the day after I mailed my application:p I still think about to get the refund I plan to take CGFNS eventhough it doesn't mean anything for me right now (I'm married with an American so I got working permit,I had my green card and another 3 years I will be American citizen if I pass the test with the Government) . I spent lot of money on TOEFL and CGFNS and I already passed TOEFL so passing CGFNS is my second goal right now. Suzan,I asked the same question when I frist heard about I don't need to pass any test before I found eligible from CA board. They not evencare about if I have working permit or not.Because if you passed the test,the hospital will ask you about others document. If they don't have authorization from INS.Yes, they need to pass TOEFL One of Thai nurse who passed NCLEX test in CA .She came here by Tourist visa .She passed NCLEX ,TOEFL ,TWE but didn't pass TSE so the hospital required her to pass TSE .They didn't mention about CGFNS at all.

I'm endorsement license from CA to Missouri .They didn't require any experience.Most of foriegner who want to get license and don't need to deal with CGFNS and TOEFL are choose to take NCLEX with CA ,NY and FL.One of my frien who never took TOEFL or CGFNS she passed NCLEX from CA and she is working as RN in Houston,TX:) This is the fact.I called Missouri board and they didn't have any requirement about any experience before I can endorse my license at all

Hi CA board doesn't need you to pass TOEFL test except you are first time applicant with CA board and want Interim Permit license.For the TOEFL test ,I didn't remember for sure how many for each part but it less than CGFNS they re quired.I think they are 16 for listening, 13 for grammars and 14 for reading . I had Interim permit,but most of hte hospital didn't really accept it. I took my NCLEX test without passing CGFNS and I passed :) I took only 75 questions :) If you pass NCLEX test you can endorse your license anywhere in USA:) How cool is that!!!!! If you come here by working visa ,maybe you don't need to pass any test if you apply with CA board.If you come by student visa,tourist visa or others without working permit .You still need TOEFL and CGFNS to get visa with Immigration. Hope it might help.

Hi, I'm so happy.I just got the great new today.I have passed NCLEX test and now officially RN wow! can't believe it.I thought I failed the test but I passed :) Don't know what to do now .Maybe wait for a month then

Hi, I 'm so upset right now.I got my interim permit already and got a phone call from Stanford university .They sounded like they were interested in me.THen I told them I worked as CNA in MIssouri for 7 months then they turned me down.If Interim permit doesn't work for foreigner nurse or reserve for only Philipines or NUrses from Taiwan .I understand about that ,but please.......Not easy for me to passed English test and I did whatever they wanted.I'm thinking about calling other hospitals tomorrow .It wasn't their fault ,it wasn't my fault to be foreigner nurse either .I'm very active nurse and open for new thing .They didn't know about this point .Why judged me before you have a chance to get to know me .If it to difficult for them to accept me as interim permittee then I will go ahead and take NCLEX.What if I pass NCLEX-RN ? THey might come up with I'm foreigner and we don't aceept that !!!!!!!!!!!!right ? I really disappointed by CA board right now .Should they still give interim permit for foreigners nurses ??????????????????????????????

HI, FRIEND OF MINE JUST FAILED NCLEX.I FELT SORRY FOR HER AND ON THE OTHER HAND I'M AFRAID OF IT. I'VE BEEN SENDING MY APPLICATION TO HSOPITAL AND WAITING FOR THEM TO REPLY.NURSING SHORTAGE IS CRISIS IN CA SO I ALWAY HAVE HOPE.I WILL SCHEDULE TEST SOMETIME ON JULY BUT NOW WORKING WITH STANFORD HOSPITAL IN CA IS MY GOAL.THEY ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATION FROM INTERIM PERMITTEE NURSE SO I'M REALLY EXCITED AND PLUS THEY WILL GIVE ME SOME TRAINING. CA BOARD IS GOING TO EVALUATE MY INTERIM PERMIT THIS WEEK SO I CAN BE PROCESSED FOR APPLICATION KEEP IN TOUCH,........PLEASE

Hi, I would like to cheer you up about this problem.In my opinion sound like you are really caring and protective mother .People make mistake you know ,but this might be to much for you .Have you talked with your daughter about what is she going to do next ? I think your daughter lied to you because of she afraid she will be disappointed on her,and you did .If you and your daughter don't want baby maybe you should contact social worker for donate child ,but please talk with your family ,especailly your daughter.

Hi, I'm sorry to heard about that .You know when I was student I always hear Professor say " if we can't get information about allergy history ,we might have to test first" But how many people really used that ??????? When I gave injection to clients I asked them if they have allergied to any drugs or if they have recieved those drugs before.Be honest with you " rare for me to test them before admin.

Hi, I think the best way for you to do is take KAPLAN course or maybe where else which provide NCLEX course.It will help you to refresh your knowledge and if you are foriegner you need to pass TOEFL if you are non speaker English .And depend on which state you want to work for .If you want to work in NY, CA ,Ohio they don't want any CGFNS result but other states are requiring you to pass CGFNS You can check info at http://www.cgfns.org http://www.toefl.org GODD LUCK !!! no

Hi, Thank you for your advice.I already have green card and know all of information about TOEFL ,CGFNS .I 'm obtaining permanent resident in USA right now and I passed TOEFL score already .I have failed CGFNS twice .In CA they doesn't need CGFNS .TOEFL have sent report to CA board that why I will get Interim Permit in next week or 2 . I found eligible for NCLEX test but haven't schedule yet because need to my license as benefit to work with American staffs.I wonder if CA hospital will let me work for them because of I'm a foriegner .That is not fair for Interim permittee .If they issued my permit why can't I use it ? If they reject my licnse because of I'm not English or American .Just make specific rule about Interim Permit license . "like non english speaker must to be pass NCLEX only" right ?

HI, I just got e-mailed from Sharp hospital.They said "they don't accept foriegner nurse who obtain Interim Permit .This is not my fault about being minor here .I don't know where can I get a job ib CA then.Anybody got an ideas?

HI ,I'm Thai nurse who are living in Missouri.I'm going to move to CA for working as RNI(registered nurse interim permit )I haven't schedule for NCLEX test yet but have passed TOEFL score 207 from 300 .I just want to have some experince from working before I schedule the test . Hi ,I think I felt the same way with you when I found out about my test result.I had failed twice from CGFNS test and twice from TOEFL test (english test )in the past 1 year and 3 months in USA but finally I have passed TOEFL test.I keep telling myself failure from the tests can't be judge people from succeed or failure .Nursing is very wide subject so you have a chance to see the questions you are familiar with very rare. I'm waiting for interim permit license and still keep telling myself If somebody else can do it I think I can too.
