Sharing Personal Information at Work
We spend about 1/3 to 1/2 of our lives at work, with our co-workers...we become a part of each others lives whether we like it or not. People sometimes ask questions just to be polite, or to simply move time along on the 12 shift, and sometimes it is to earnestly "get to know you". Don't take yourself to seriously, and think that you are all that interesting, most people forget your details about 10 minutes after the conversation is finished. Don't you do the same??

Just gave up a decent income to be a CNA
I wish you the best in whatever your decision is....As a RN and an instructor with CNA programs, I have seen where it is difficult for a Wife/Mother to go to school and have a homelife..being a waitress isn't easy either, I have done all these things and been in your shoes. My advise for you is if you want to go into the medical field, "bite the bullet" and attend a LPN or RN program, in the long run it will profit you and your family better than a CNA. Don't miss understand, CNA are really hard workers, but if you are going to work that hard, you should get a higher pay grade.

Starting RN Salary
Starting pay is hard to quote in the State of GA. Pay grades are dependent on the usual things, years of experience, the field of especially, education, the area of the state, and the type of job or facility you will be working within Georgia. The average for an RN is roughly $20.00 hourly, maybe slightly higher in the Atlanta area, and could be lower in the rural areas of the state.

middle age and confused
There one down side of the Nursing field, if retirement plans are what you are really looking at, then take a long look at where you might be working. Most hospitals have a 401k, but retirement does not come with length of service, but usually age. Private companies may have better retirements, but how much support will you have from other nurses and liability? There are good and bad in all situations. Look before you leap to far.

You already have a Bachelor's Degree so why would you want to go to LPN school??? You probably would not be happy with that, most of the LPN's I know go back and continue their education. I have been a GA RN for 15 years, I have been blessed to be able to work in most every area, and I would not want to be anything else. Nursing math is different from general math, not harder just a different set of rules and conversion tables, memorization is the Key!! You can do it... Good Luck.
