There will be another spot opening up for someone on the waitlist because I'm going to decline my addmission to the accelerated program. I'm sad because I know it would be awesome however, I live in Oregon. I applied to 2 schools here in Oregon and 1 in Colorado to up my chances. I was only going to move if Colorado was my only option, luckily I received an acceptance letter from a school here. I own a home and have a 4 year old so it would have been tough to up-root our lives, but I was willing to do it if necessary, I know it would have been a great adventure :) good luck to all of you at UC Denver!

One more thing! Fall entrance is for 4 year UP students and they only admit you to fall if for some reason they end up with less 4 year students entering their Junior year.

Last year was my first year applying and I applied to OHSU and UP. I was waitlisted for UP and did not get into OHSU. Last year I heard that they can put up to 300 people on the waiting list (which seems like a lot) but you can call and ask what number you are. I was 63 and with the amount of people trying to get into school they obviously did not go too far into the waiting list cause I never heard anything. But...This year I only applied to Linfield and UP and I was accepted to UP WHOO HOO! (I think Linfield sends out their letters next month) There is hope, so if this is your first year applying, don't be too upset if you do not get in. Keep trying!

When you log in and see that message saying thanks and stuff...go to the top of the page and click on the apply tab and once there, go to the left of the page and click on application status. This is where it told me I was incomplete when really I was complete.

Its really sad how much these schools rely on GPA's. I understand that getting good grades is important but there are a lot of things that take part in your grade, things like, teacher, time in your life (right out of high school vs. coming back after 10 years), etc. My first degree's GPA was a 3.49. 10 years later, I am actually enjoying school, yet my previous 3.49 is a disadvantage to me...which is sad. I'm also a single mom with a morgtage now and being perfect isn't so easy. I know a lot of 4.0 students that I for sure would not want them to be my nurse, they might be book smart but when it comes to real life and dealing with human beings, they fail big time! Anyhoo, I just needed to express that. I am not applying to OHSU this year because of the fact they rely so heavily on grades and it would just be a waste of $120 (which is the most expensive application fee I have seen, even outside of Oregon). While I'm here expressing my thoughts I should tell you that my roommate applied last year with a 4.0, previous degree, and tons of volunteer/life experiences and she did not get into OHSU either. Just an FYI to those who have not heard anything back...it took a few weeks for them to get back to me and that was after I sent them an email and phone call so not to worry :) Once they did call back they said mid to late Feb is when they should be sending out letters, I think some others have posted that info as well. I had called them because when I checked my application status online, it said I was incomplete and missing a whole buch of stuff...they told me that I wasn't missing anything and that they are having problems with the online application status portal.

I decided March of 2009 that I hated my career path so much that I was going to go back to school to get into nursing. I graduated in 2003 with a BS in Health Education and was planning to go on to nursing school after that but life happened. This year I applied to 2 schools and did not get in. I did plan on taking A&P over since it had been 10 years and I got B's -> which back then was good! Since I have another year to take A&P over again and to apply to schools again, I have decided to do the CNA route. Everyone has their own oppinion on how you get into to school and if becoming a CNA is worth it. I lost the job I hated so much last month so I have time and I figured doing something in the Medical field is a hell of a lot better than sitting at a desk pushing papers around for another year!

I'm number 63 and they said there are over 300 on the waitlist and then there are still those who get rejected :) So not bad I guess!

I am on the waitlist. Does anyone have any idea how many people are placed on the waitlist and what the chances of being accepted from the waitlist are? I also applied to OHSU Acc Bac and will be applying to UP Masters program, I just want a back up plan and that's why I applied to the transfer program at UP to up my chances of being accepted somewhere. I have a small child and a house so I could not apply anywhere far. Thanks for the info!

Hi Everyone! I too have been going crazy waiting to find out if I got accepted to a school. Me and my roomate both applied to UP and OHSU. She received her acceptance letter today from UP so they have started to arrive. I did not receive one so I am hoping it's not because I didn't get accepted but because my will come tomorrow??? Fingers crossed! I have heard that OHSU sends out their letters anywhere from April to the end of May. I have no idea what is right. I applied to the Accelerated BSN at OHSU. Thanks and good luck!
