Hi, be confident. I did Kaplan, and when I took my exam on Tuesday it seemed that qs were easier than Kaplan's. You will have time to sit and think about question and answers. Just do not rash, and you will be fine. Good luck :):):)
  4. I went on pearsonvue site to try to register again, and I got a good pop up . Will wait for my official result.
  5. Thanks! I knew pharm very well, all pharm qs were familiar to me.
  6. I just came home after taking my NCLEX exam. My exam started at 8:05, and I left testing center at 9:20am. My computer cut off at 75 qs. I want to say know very well: Prioritizing, who you see first, delegation, infection control, pharm, and you will be OK! Be confident, read question and answers careful ! It seemed to me that exam is not difficult. Good luck .:)
  7. Pain meds: -Morph. sulfate -fentanyl transdermal -PCA narcotics In the past Demerol was the drug of choice for pancreatitis; however due to adverse drug reactions this drug is no longer used ( Hurst review)
  8. According to latest treatment of American Heart Association:When a client in the ED with ANY form of chest pain give them an Aspirin and put on Oxygen. #1. O2 #2. Nitro #3. Morphine Not long ago it was MONA- Morphine, Oxygen,Nitroglicerin, Aspirin. Now , order is: O2,Nitro, Morphine.
  9. According to Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN (p.1329): Care of client in sickle cell crisis a. Recognize that client may have severe pain and medicate accordingly, usually with opioid analgetics b.administer O2 to increase oxygenation to cell c. Promote hydration to decrease blood viscosity, provide oral intake of at least 6 to 8 quarts daily or IV fluids of 3 liters daily. d. monitor for complications such as vaso-oclusive diseaase(thrombosis), hypoxia.... With normal oxygenation, sickled RBCs resume normal shape, then hydrate to decrease blood viscosity.
  10. Hurst says: Least invasive First. So give O2 first priority. IV fluids is second.
  11. I an taking Hurst review now, only one day left. It is awesome.I recommend to go for it. My exam is in June, and with this review i feel more confident. Good luck:)
