Frontier and Georgetown CNM/WHNP
Well I eventually decided on frontier and I'm not regretting it at all. I've already met so many people from my class and we don't start until July.

Frontier and Georgetown CNM/WHNP
I'm a little worried myself but I keep hearing that there is a lot of help. With Georgetown they help you also. It was a real toss up!

When to start applying for Certified Nurse Midwife jobs?
I know this is a very old post but I'm currently accepted at Georgetown and Frontier.... I'm so torn with the cost at Georgetown... I love both programs. How was your experience and was the cost worth it?

Frontier Class 149
I sadly have not chosen at all...at this point I'm letting the school choose me.. Georgetowns cost is í ½í¸–... Both programs are great. I would really look in to learning style and see what works for you. Frontier as I understand it is more self directed. Georgetown you actually have to show up in a virtual class room.

Getting into Georgetown CNM/WHNP Program without experience
How are you liking the program thus far? I was just accepted into the program started this may.

Frontier and Georgetown CNM/WHNP
They actually didn't require the GRE for Georgetown. The cost is the only thing holding me from just accepting. Both are great programs!

Med/surg to NICU
I have been a nurse for nearly 3 years now...I started at a nursing home (hated it ) and I have been on a very busy medsurg floor for nearly 2 years now. Busy and crazy nearly all the time. I hate having 8 patients . Despite the bad days I still love nursing. I have always been interested in the NICU and L & D. Recently NICU has really been on my mind. I was wondering about the learning curve and and what are some good books to give me a bit of prep and review. I appreciate any advice Nikki

Forced to quit, now what
Really a 12 week orientation... that sounds wonderful.. I had like 4 weeks and as it is a LTC when orientation is over you are really on your own 1 nurse (me) and 5-6 CNAs.

praying I make it through my first year..kinda long
I started nursing as a new career choice:). I was so excited in nursing school... I thought great I will be right there with the patients and really making a difference . I passed my NCLEX in September and I was so excited . Fast forward to today... I feel like crying daily . I feel like I have forgotten everything I learned in nursing school. Jobs were scarce so I am working in a nursing home. I feel like everyone one around me knows what they are doing. I spend most days on a floor working bymyself with somewhere between 35-44 patients and 4-6 CNAs. I am overwhelmed and exhausted and I feel like everyday I am on the brink of disaster. When I report off to the next shift I often hear "oh you should have done this". I pray daily for strength to make it through. I read about people having preceptors and think how nice that must be to have had someone near to ask a question. I sometimes wonder if I made a mistake becoming a nurse... I want to give the best care to my patients and yes I am a bit of a perfectionist. I knew nursing would be hard but .... Any advice will help:confused:
