I got adjusted individual score of 85, is that a good score, bad score or an okay score?

Indiana University at South Bend: 8 seats and 44 applicants... I wonder why only 8 seats

I guess but why would they want to spend money and tell my town that I was accepted into the university, or in your case, won a scholarship. What do they have to gain by sending a press release?

How so? They can verify residency by many other ways (ex. asking me to prove a utility bill, DL, or copy of tax forms, etc)

Math, reading, grammer, etc are easy. Killer part is the anatomy and physiology section. You have to know the nerves, muscles, bones, veins/arteries. You also have to know which glands secrete which hormone. I had a question that asked which hormone does anterior pituitary gland secrete?

As for anat and phys section? Here's what I remember: -Know the heart valves (mitral/biscuspid and tricuspid) -know the nephron structure (where water gets reabsorbed and where minerals get reabsorbed) - Know the effects of ADH on the kidneys/nephrons -Know the major nerves -Know the various fluids/glands (synovial, sebacious, sudoferous) and where they're found -Know your bones, tissues, muscles, and joints -Know which glands releases which hormones (one of the question asked what hormone does anterior pit secrete) - Know the function of hormones (one question asked which gland regulates calcium levels if they go down) -Know the enzymes and fluids released in digestive tract -Know blood cells (RBCs and WBCs), their functions, and their shape In my classes, we've only covered endocrine, blood, heart, cell structures, tissues, intemengutary system. Only knowing the above topics, I scored 72 on it so I think that once I complete the courses, I can do way better on it.

Did you have to take the HESI A2 anatomy and physiology section for admission into your school? I just took my HESI and did really bad on anatomy and physiology section (I'm actually taking ANAT/PHYS 1 and ANAT/PHYS 2 both at the same time this semester). I scored the lowest on this section. Could the admission committee look at my score and think that maybe I didn't score well on ANT/PHY section because I haven't completed the courses yet? The rest of the sections, I got over 80s.

Lol, I'm not looking for an easy way. Just trying to work with my numbers to find out where I'm competitive. No point in spending money on schools that won't even look at my application because of my stats.

Are you serious? so ANY qualified applicant (one who meets the minimum requirements) has the same chance as the one who exceed the minimum requirements?

Well, there could be other reasons. For example, my school charges me $10 per official transcript release. If I apply to 10 schools, it'll be $100. As a student without any outside financial support, it's hard for me to spend $100 a month on transcripts when I'm already living off of mac n cheese. I can afford $100 over longer period of time (e.g. two months) but until then, I have to submit unofficial copy until I have enough money to order the official one.

I think most colleges accept unoffical transcripts for the time being but eventually, you'll have to send in an official copy before they make the decision.

If that's the case then I would have to agree with you. Personally, first I would just take the direct approach and confront the cheater and tell him/her about what I saw and my concerns regarding grading curve and it's effect on my grade. If that doesn't workout then I'd go the professor. But either way, cheating shouldn't be tolerated.

I'm not even in nursing school and already getting stereotyped. I met with one of the family friends from church and they asked what I was doing, I hesitantly said "nursing". The first thing the guy asked was, "what are you, gay?" (he's one of those guys that likes to joke a lot). I've noticed that now he doesn't really look at me the same way as before. He looks and talks to me more like I'm a failure or something and I'm someone who couldn't get anything going in life so I decided to go into nursing. Obviously he doesn't know a lot about me but still it kind of has an indirect impact on me that makes me second guess myself.

I was wonder if male students are given any preference for admissions into BSN or ABSN? I would think that since there are very few males in the nursing profession, males would be given a slight preference over other applicants, would that be true? It would be similar to how ethnic minorities are given preferences during admissions due to their status of being an ethnic minority. Since males in nursing profession are considered a minority, I would think same logic would apply. What do you think?

I'd rather just let it be. I know what I have to do and I don't butt into other folks lives. When they cheat, they know what they are doing. They are adults and know the consequences. I personally believe that if you cheat through the classes, it's going to come back to bite you in the orifice later on. When these pre-nusing students go to take HESI or TEAS exam, they won't have all the facilities to cheat as they do now. If they haven't learned anything, they won't pass and won't be nurses. It's as simple as that.

Sure. I don't think it'll hurt your chances. Just don't base your application or essay on babysitting. You can list that under jobs or ec activities.

You don't necessarily have to have office-related jobs. It's better if you have health-care related jobs. The volunteering in Africa will help you out significantly because it shows your enthusiasm for helping others when it comes to health. Plus if you're going into pediatrics, get a job that has you working with kids. Something like pediatrician's office, kindergarten, pre-school, social work, etc. Make sure that when you work, you keep good relations with your employer, especially someone who's your superior because you will need letter of recommendation from them.

That's what I was thinking but right now, I go to school full-time and I don't work so I don't have money. The cheapest room I found was in a sleazy motel that wanted $70 a night incl. taxes. As of now, I'm thinking about just driving there on Friday, sleep in my car for the night and then find YMCA in the morning to take shower and get ready. Otherwise I'll just have to go into the testing without showering. Anyone have any other bright ideas?

You have all the right ideas and good wording. There are some grammar and punctuation mistakes here and there. I suggest that you have one of your friends, family member, or classmate look at it and help you fix those errors. Another thing you should try is to read the essay out loud. When you read it out loud, you will notice the obvious grammar mistakes embedded within the essay. Good job and good luck

When it comes to GPA calculation (or points), I guess Cali has a good system. I did pretty bad on some upper level science courses and couple of non-science courses, but my pre-req is around 3.2 so if I apply to Cali schools, I guess I could be considered competitive, even though my cumulative GPA is 2.8.
