15/hr thats ugly. cross country is one of the larger companies and I suggest you go with one of the bigger companies on your first go around but you should know that because they are bigger it means more over head to pay and less pay then the smaller company. i'll PM you some good smaller company names. And I suggest all new travel nurses join delphiforums. great place to get info on travel jobs, taxes, good and bad hospital and etc.

that's funny I'm in houston now, well at the airport, I was in town taking a chemo class in Galvaston. Houston is not looking to good for me right now, a lot of the hospitals that had openings are now putting their needs on hold. Where are you trying to go next?

could you get a letter of recommendation from the supervisor where you did your preceptorship, that would make your application look much better.

are you still trying to do an assignment in LA? I've always wanted to go but didn't want to go by myself.

I've done 2 assignments with them in the past. They were pretty good at returning phone calls and patience with all my questions and most important pay was always on time. best thing about them is they now have the tax advantage program. I really suggest them especially if it's your first travel job. Cross Country is their sister company they also have the tax advantage program.
