We had to pass the HESI with a 85 in order to graduate. I did well on it and found it a lot easier than the NCLEX. I have classmates, however, who felt the opposite. My friend failed HESI the first time and she purchased a review book especially for HESI. I dunno what it's callled but she said it helped a lot. I used the green Saunders book to prepare for HESI and I thought it prepared me well.
  2. haha, yes! especially when I seriously thought I failed.
  3. Oh and thanks for the congrats, icureu and treddrn!
  4. I will be rotating between icu and ccu.
  5. I got my official letter from the board yesterday and I did indeed pass. =)
  6. Thanks! I start hospital orientation on Monday. I can't wait until I am actually on the floor and get to sign my name with R.N. at the end. haha
  7. Congratulations, Michelle, R.N.! :) -Paula, R.N. haha
  8. Thanks everyone! orchid- I went to the section where you look up if a person has an active license or not. I had to pay a dollar and put my social secruity number in and it came up with my license number and when it expires. I tried to find florida's site so I could help you out but I couldn't find it. =/ obnurse2004- the wait was very hard, wasn't it? Good luck to you as well. Do you have a job yet?
  9. Good luck! Yes, I passed! =)
  10. Thanks so much! It is so weird cause it still hasn't hit me that I am nurse now!
  11. Thanks obnurse2004.. I really hope you get your results soon and I hope you pass!
  12. You'll probably feel better to get it over with, I know I did. Whatever you decide, good luck!
  13. I don't see why people don't just check their board of nursing site, if possible. Thanks! It still hasn't hit me that I actually passed.
  14. and it had me listed as a registered nurse with my license # and my verification date 2-19....but when I tried to look it up on the vue site, it said my results weren't ready. hmmm
  15. Oh gosh, moninurse, 4 weeks?! I hope you passed!
  16. I just flipped through it for a few minutes and didn't pay much attention to the delegation section. The section on Maslow's was very relevant to some of the questions I had. Mostly, I wish I would have known how to pick questions apart.
  17. From my understanding, and maybe this is just in Ky, the test is graded twice. I dunno, tho. Gosh, I am doing the same thing, tho! I keep peeping just in case it is up early! We're going to drive ourselves crazy!
  18. Thanks for making me feel better =) I have another suggestion for those of you who still have to take boards, get the Kaplan book. I didn't use it but today I went to a bookstore and looked through one...I was shocked at how similiar the content was and found myself wishing I had prepared by it. obnurse2004, I hope you passed! I said a little prayer for you!
  19. Way to go! :)
  20. I hope you get your att soon. When you get it, may I suggest signing up to take boards at the earliest date possible. I could have signed up to take my earlier but I thought I'd need some time to study. The extra time didn't help much and the wait almost killed me. Anywho, good luck when you do take them. And thanks for the confidence. =)
  21. I took boards today as well. Mine also cut off at 75. I hope you passed!
  22. I visit this forum often but never post. I thought I'd share my experience with boards. It was harder than I expected. Like everyone else has been saying, there were a lot of delegation/priority type questions. I thought they would be a little more cut and dry but I had problems with a few of them. I had 3 ob questions, a couple diabetes questions, 3 questions about glaucoma, and no drug calculations. There were also a few commuunication type questions but the options weren't like the standard answers in school. It cut off at 75 questions and I almost burst into tears right there because I felt as if I was doing terrible. I guess I'll find out Friday.
