  1. Hi Elena: Thanks so much for your advice. I greatly appreciate it. Knowing that what im feeling is normal is very comforting. Im just curious, what would you recommend in terms of dealing with the doctors. Ive heard in the beginning, the doctors try to control new nurses and tell them what to do. Did this happen to you?? I will keep you posted on how things are going and if i have any questions i will not hesitate to write to you. sincerely, ms
  2. Hi to all, I am a new nursing grad starting in a Neuro ICU. I am really scared. It is kind of intimidating and I don't know exactly what it will be like. If there is anyone that started as a new grad in a neuro icu or someone that can give me advice for starting , let me know. Much appreciation, MS
  3. HI to ALL: I am fairly new here. I just passed my NCLEX and Im applying for jobs. I have no idea where my true heart lies as far as nursing. I have yet to learn. I have heard med-surg is a good place to start for getting basic skills. I have friends though that have started in ICUs and love it, but feel very overwhelmed. My future goals are to go back for an NP in 2-3 years after i've paid off some of my school debt and have gathered my own confidence in the nursing role. Any suggestions for a new grad??? I would certainly appreciate any input from anyone. :)
  4. Hi, I would love to talk to her. Is she already in the Airforce??? thanks for the contact. Love, MS
  5. hi to all, thanks for your support. I greatly appreciate it. i thankyou guys for everything you have done for me to keep me feeling like im not alone in a world of new nurses. thanks again, moninurse
  6. hi, I finally found out today that I did pass. I am so happy. I had to check it and come back and recheck my license number just to believe. it. Where do you plan to start working? What specialty?? I wish you all the love and support, Moninurse
  7. :rotfl: Im so excited!!!! I've had such a hard time the last few months, and finally my cross is lifted!! I can't wait to finally start working . I do have some worries about getting my skills up. I've been out of school for a while and I think i've forgotten alot of my skills. What do you guys recommend???
  8. hi everyone, I took my nclex in north carolina this past wed. ( two days ago) and got only 75 questions. I have checked the website for the board of nursing and have called their number and still no license number. We don't have quick results in this state, however we can still check the board of nursing website. Should I be worried???? please help.
  9. hi, Im on your side of the fence because i failed it the first time. I had all 265 questions the first time. The good news is that it means you probably were pretty close to passing. You probably have the nursing knowledge but need more problem solving/critical thinking skills. I suggest you take kaplan review course. It is 400 dollars (not cheap) but definitely worth it. They have the class online or you can take it at the center. If there is anything i can do for you let me know. I would be more than happy to help you with advice. Love, MS:)
  10. I've been wanting to do things as well to get my mind off of things, but I can't . It's like i have a cross on my shoulders that hasn't come off. I failed my first time and this time i think i did better but just the waiting is making me cringe. Im in NC , and we don't have a quick results here. It can take as long as four weeks?? does anyone know a different way of checking results???
  11. congrats on passing. Wish me the same luck. I hope i pass!!! Lots of love, ms
  12. Hi, I also had to take the test twice. I've been working as a CNA to pay off my bills since i graduated. It has been a really horrible nightmare the past 6 months. I ran into an old professor of mine the other day that asked me how my job was going and i had to tell here i wasnt an RN yet. It has been humiliating to say the least. All the nurses on my floor look down on me for not passing the first time. It seems they think Im not as smart for not passing the first time. I took it the first time and got all 265 and failed. this time i took it with only 75 questions and still waiting for my results...My state does not have quick results so I am in agony as we speak waiting for results. I wish my nursing school would have warned me about how difficult this test is. they seemed to not make such a big deal about it. I am with you girl. We can support eachother through this.....lots of love, ms [
  13. Hi, I just wanted to inquire about anyone who has had experience being in the Airforce as a nurse. I just graduated in dec. and im considering the option of joining. yet, i do not want to go into this decision blindfolded like many do. Anyone who can give me a positive/negative on airforce nursing and their experience would be greatly appreciated!! Looking forward to any replies, MS
