Anyone get a response yet?!

Has anyone called? I was planning to call today but realized it was their spring break. Good luck everyone!

I believe this semester is the first time those sections have been required. I missed one but only had English and math. For the math I suggest reviewing fractions, decimals, and the metric system. For English you should go to the library and spend an hour or so with the HESI test-prep book. The English question format is very easy but can be kind of confusing if you've never seen that format before.

Hey guys! I am in the ADN program at CyFair. Just wanted to tell everyone good luck on the HESI! Our cutoff for us was 11.6--just FYI. Best of luck!

Get the copy of the sample HESI book that's at the Lone Star library (I believe) and spend an hour looking at the English questions. That will help you on the English section...review fractions and decimals and the METRIC system (the basics of it) for the math. I took it last semester and only missed one. No idea about what to do for the new sections of the HESI that are needed. Good luck!!! Don't over think the questions.

I got a packet in the mail that has things for "additional info sheet" "emergency procedures" "health history" "physical exam" "immunizations", etc. Has everyone else gotten this? Have you started filling it out? Classes start in less than 3 months!!!

Isn't quest is only a LVN program?

So my husband got his letter Wednesday and I STILL don't have a letter!! I called the nursing department Friday and the lady seemed confused because she said they sent our letters out the same day, so apparently the post office lost mine... They told me to call back Monday if I didn't get it over the weekend... I wonder what they're going to have me do because there's not time for them to mail me a new letter and me to mail it back seeing how they're due on the 8th! Grr!! And to add to my aggravations my Bears not only lost, but played terribly! (not a good weekend!).

I had to do one. I actually did it back in May because I had heard it could take up to 6 months to complete. Got mine back in about a month, though so I'm sure you won't have any trouble!!

Someone asked if people with 11.652 are getting in. My husband got his letter in the mail today (he got a 94 on the math...so anyone with a score higher than that doesn't need to worry!). Weirdest thing is that I DIDN'T get a letter yet! I can't imagine why one letter would come all the way from Texas to Chicago but not the other??

I've heard from previous semesters that they usually get all the alternates in so I would not worry yet!!! You'll most likely be right there with everyone!

Emmy--we should pick different schedules and watch each others kids for free lol!!! I have a 17 month old and a 2 month old and have the same problem! Nevertheless we will def have to study together and let the kiddos play!!

Kyla--What'd you get on your math portion of the test? Franksl--we actually live in a burb of Chicago (similar to what CyFair is to Houston). While I like our burb I HATE Chicago. Other than touristy things it's a dirty, crime-ridden city (in my opinion). My husband and I really wanted to just raise our family somewhere different. We wanted a place that doesn't get cold and affordable housing prices and my husband has family in Houston so we figured this was a good fit!

franksl-- I'm also moving to Houston for the first time! Have you been on HAR.com? Scroll down and go to "residential lease" at the bottom and you can look up all the homes available for rent. I would also suggest contacting a Realtor. I checked craigslist once or twice but never found anything. I didn't find Katy or Spring to be significantly cheaper (but I could be wrong). Maybe it's because I'm from Chicago but I find EVERY part of Texas to be ludicrously inexpensive!!

CONGRATS Emmy!!! I want my letter!!!!! How long you guys think it'll take them to get to Chicago?

Anyone have any idea what the schedule looks like for CyFair the 2nd semester? Is it similar to the first?

Good for you luvtosow!! I'm glad you don't have to worry! I second people posting the cutoff once they get their letters because I'm def. getting mine a few days later!

I'm pretty sure we'll all get in! I won't be getting my letter until after y'all So excited this is almost over!

So I am in a wedding that is on a cruise the first week of December. I called and asked if the wedding and orientation overlap do I have to wait to start until next semester. The lady said that "letters will be mailed out tomorrow and the date of the orientation is in the letter but it is usually right around that time." She knew the date and couldn't even tell me!! Like you know the date, tell me!! haha. She said they **might** be able to work around me not being at orientation...arg! I hope they can, I don't want to wait another semester.

What do some of you have set up in terms of childcare? I have no clue what my plans are!

I am pretty sure the Thursday class will be 8am-2pm and both morning and afternoon classes will be mixed in the upcoming semester (they've changed it). Don't quote me on that, though. Kingwood starts clinicals the first semester. CyFair does clinicals every other semester--starting the second semester.
