Is CGFNS exam still required despite being Foreign RN living in US?
Hi, There's no way you can bypass the English test..I am also a RN in the Philippines and am living in Wisconsin..I passed my LPN, but before that, I had to take the English test (took TOEFL but you can take the IELTS too- easier). Now, just waiting for my CGFNS exam result to take the NCLEX-RN.. I also researched about bypassing the English test, but I assure you there is no way to do that here in Wisconsin.. Wishing you success..I live here in Oshkosh, Wisconsin..

I just could not understand why at first the credential officer said she can't do that. But when I e-mailed her the contacgt people she can contact just to confirm my TOEFL she sent me the e-mail which I posted above...

HELP
hi everyone! i have a big problem.. i have taken the toefl last december 10, 2010. i got 96% as the over-all score and got 23 on the speaking part. wisconsin bon got the result and accepted and considered my over-all score and even posted it in my application status-toefl-passed. my problem is cgfns would not issue the ces report because of just the speaking part being 23 (26 is the passing for them). now i'm confused, my bon says i passed but then the cgfns says i failed the speaking part. whom should i believe. to make the story short i contacted the cgfns thru e-mail and phone. i talked to the customer service agent and told me that i should contact the wi-bon to confirm it with them. so, i did that, but the credential officer of the wi-bon replied first that they have no control of cgfns requirements. i e-mailed her again of the contact people of cgfns-(which the customer agent gave me)she could contact to confirm they have considered my toefl scores, and literally begged her to just contact them. she e-mailed me back with this e-mail response: i am currently working on nursing items received in our agency during the week of 2-7-11. if our agency received materials on or after this date, it will get processed in order received. due to the holidays, vacation days, mandatory furlough days, this may take longer. for new graduate exam applicants: please note that you were previously instructed to send your application at least six weeks prior to your graduation date. just a reminder, according to the application instructions, please allow at least 15-20 business days after we receive each item in our agency for us to review, process and/or update any incoming items, (i.e. applications, email, mail or faxes). also, please view the 3 charts in the below link describing the application process and timeline: http://165.189.60.145/docview.asp?docid=723&locid=0 for current application status updates, please watch our website (website is: drl.wi.gov, click on "application status") thanks and have a great day. do you think she will grant my request? do you think she will contact the cgfns? or should i just give up on this? first, i do not want to give up because it causes more time & money...please help...any replies would be considered..thank you and more power..

Any Foreign Nurse working toward ToEFL???
Hi every1!!! I just contacted my BON & they said they will just consider the over-all score!!! That really made me sooo happy..!:yeah:Now, I don't have to retake TOEFL!!! Thank GOD.. =) A piece of advice everyone, make sure you contact first your BON before jumping to any conclusion, each BON has different requirements! Customer agents in CGFNS do not really know all of each state's..

Any Foreign Nurse working toward ToEFL???
Hi everyone! I am already a permanent resident in the US.. I live in Wisconsin.. The state requires TOEFL iBT & CES before you can take the NCLEX-RN/LPN.. I took the TOEFL already and exceeded the total score. I got 96, but the problem is I only got 23 for the speaking part.. =( I read that you can still use the total score only if you are active in the Certification Program.. is that true? Or should I retake the TOEFL? another $170 again!grrrr.. It's actually my fault I did not do any reviews.. I just took the exam and hoped for the best...any pieces of advice anyone? :crying2:I'm planning to take the TOEFL again on January, but have to take my self-review seriously...

Do I still have to take the TOEFEL & CGFNS exam?
thanks much.. I have another question.. I already applied for CES report & TOEFL ibt test requirements in Wisconsin to take my NCLEX-PN. I want to take the NCLEX-RN in the future. Do I need to reapply for the credentials again including the CGFNS exam? or would they use my credentials report & they will just charge me for the CGFNS exam?

Endorsement Issue
hi, every1 that's my dilemma too..how'd you resolve it? I don't want to take the CGFNS exam, so I applied in CA. Can you still be a RN in WI without taking the CGFNS? I'm a filipina nurse for almost 4 years in the Philippines and a permanent resident in the US and is now living in Wisconsin, working as a CNA.

so confused PLEASE HELP!!!
:nurse:Hi evry1!!! I live in Wisconsin as a Permanent Resident & I'm a foreign-educated nurse (Philippines). I wanted to take the NCLEX-RN in North Carolina because they only ask for a CES course by course report done by the CGFNS & no IELTS or any english proficiency if your school of nursing teaches Nursing in English and uses Text books in Nursing in English. I don't want to take the CGFNS exam. This is the reason why I wanted NC.. Do you think if I take the NC NCLEX I will be multi-licensed with the rest of the compact states including my home permanent residence (Wisconsin)? Or should I just apply for a non compact state and later on apply for endorsement here in Wisconsin? I want to be multi-licensed but, I don't want to apply in Wisconsin because they require CGFNS exam & IELTS, Thanks much every1.. Please any comments and suggestions will really be helpful..

Can I take the CNA tests?PLS HELP..
I have contacted the Red Cross :nurse:already, told them everythin'... but, the lady just said that I should first contact the Wisconsin BON and let them know of it so that they could do the rest:crying2:. I have read in the January 2010 Nurse's Aide Handbook (found in Pearsonvue) that I'm under E-3 Foregin-Educated Nurse, and that I will be eligible to take the tests if I will submit a letter from the Wisconsin BON verifying that I am a foreign-educated nurse eligible to take the NCLEX. They did not even state what documents to submit, for me to get the verification letter. So, I just submitted what I thougt were necessary.. :pI hope it works! I really do hope...and pray..

Can I take the CNA tests?PLS HELP..
Hi Nursecubanita! thank you for responding to my post..I really appreciate it.. I would like to work first as a CNA while waiting for the processing of my papers in the Philippines to take the NCLEX. It will take me the most 6mos for everything! I would like to be oriented as to how the healthcare services work in the US. I am trying my luck by sending the Wisconsin Board of Nursing a letter requesting a letter of verification from them and other supporting documents, in order for me be eligible to take the NNAAP exam. Do you think I am doing the right thing? anyone's welcome to post your opinion. Your help & suggestions are highly appreciated..Thank you all..
