Flemnica - The actual floor manager was the one to offer me the position. All I have received so far is information on my pre-employment screen as well as information to bring to orientation and clinics to set up a drug screen. However, I was told that I would receive further information by the end of this week! Still no word on your end? Did you receive a follow-up interview? Memorial Health posted on Facebook that all offers have to be out no later than July 20th, so I assume people may not hear until then! Good luck, I can't wait to start!

Anyone attending or taken the Accelerated BSN at Concordia in Irvine?
The pace is fast, but if your a fast-learner, have good organization and time management skills then you will be fine. You definitely need to commit 95% of your time to nursing. Good luck!

It's pretty unfortunate the people from the New Grad Interview Fair have not been notified yet. I was offered a position in the middle of June and still haven't received my formal offer. I am not sure how they are going to start July 30th when they haven't even notified you guys! The fires have made things really tough! I guess the waiting game continues for us all... Good luck to those who haven't heard!

Denver Health New Graduate Residency Program
Yeah, it's really tough to get a job in Colorado, even for those who went to school here. I went to school in California and tested in California. So, when I moved out here it took me awhile to get my CO license. Once I had my license # it took me about 2 1/2 months to find a job, however for some, it has taken a lot longer. I feel very fortunate to have found a job that quick.

Denver Health New Graduate Residency Program
Cehearn1, I am not 100% sure if you have to wait until you take NCLEX, however when I was applying to a few positions prior to being able to type in my RN license number on my application, my application status would instantly change to "Not Selected". When I talked to HR about it, they said I wouldn't be considered until I had my license #. Things may have changed though...

Also, has anyone that received the "informal" offer last week over the phone for the ER Nurse Resident position receive the "formal" offer yet?

Not satisfied with Kaplan
I paid for Kaplan and the NCLEX Review on learningext.com and to be honest I think the only thing that helped was answering question after question after question. The decision tree was completely unhelpful and the content of NCLEX was so ridiculous at times that I didn't know the majority of the procedures and medications. However, I passed at 75 questions on my first try because I had the strategy to answer the questions down. I downloaded applications on my phone that would strictly offer advice on why the answer was correct but also how you could deduce it to the correct answer if you literally had no idea what the question was asking. Mind you, I did graduate with a strong GPA so I do know my content pretty well, but when you are consistently being asked the higher level questions during the NCLEX there is noway you will know everything or be able to study everything. If you take anything from this post, answer 100 questions everyday up until NCLEX, take the day before NCLEX off and relax and just relax, don't cram and you will do well. Good luck :)

Cobra, I picked Tuesday! I am not a fan of interviews either, especially since I don't know how long it's going to be. Good luck to you though, I think you have a good chance since you were a paramedic!

Does anyone know how many positions they have open in the ER New Grad Program or how many they are interviewing?

Did you e-mail the recruiter? I have no idea if they will send over your resume since it seems like they have already contacted people for interviews, however I don't think it will hurt to try! Were you selected for the regular new grad program? Good luck!
