I heard that CNAs don't make much, maybe max 18 bucks and they do all the dirty work. All the info is listed on their website. I know that an externship is provided with the training.

bella917 and wendy_smith. can you tell me which nursing home they placed you for clinicals? several months ago, i was told by the receptionist at manhattan institute that they send you to a hospital in bronx for clinicals. i'm actually looking for a place that trains and offers clinicals in manhattan. also, if you don't mind, can you pm me your salary?

fleajones , where did you go to find out what books to buy? they don't have textbook info for my two classes @ medgar bookstore site yet.

I'm taking my prereqs this semester at Medgar Evers in Brooklyn. What about you camdenlilly?

If you don't mind spending $$, I'd recommend private schools. There's no wait and some don't require entrance exams.

The advisor told me I must take the intro course then 251. I asked her if there's any way around that, and she said no. The course description for 251 states the prereqs are bio 111 OR bio 101 OR CHM 105; it did not mention the intro course. I'm assuming we had the same advisor. so you're taking 1 class this semester? I'm taking chem at 5:30 and develop psy at 7pm.

I went to the Registration Fair for Transfer students today and it took the entire day to get evaluated and registered. Since I didn't take any college level biology classes I would need to take intro to anatomy & Phy before I can take the first sequence of bio 251 (anatomy & Phy 1). I dont want to waste money and time for that one introductory course. My plan was to take all my science prereqs and transfer. Are there any recommendations?

Do you recommend taking chemistry and A&P1 at the same time?

HI 2BEagle, Congrats! Did you get any financial aid/scholarship at NYU? I got accepted to Medgar for spring 2010 and will be taking my prereqs there. I also plan on applying to NYU for the fall. Do you have any recommendation for which courses/professors I should take? Is the neighborhood really as scary as everybody said?

I plan on applying for the fall semester. I agree with others that I'd rather spend more $ to get accepted than waitlisted. I will be taking my pre-reqs at Medgar Evers in Brooklyn in spring 2010 and summer then apply to NYU as a transfer student.

I got accepted to MEC for spring 2010 but not sure if I plan on going bc it's pretty far from my home. Did you get an acceptance letter from the nursing dept? The only thing I got was a postcard with an advisement date. Do you know where pre-req classes are held and how's the neighborhood?

medwards2, Did you receive an acceptance letter from the Nursing Dept in MEC or a postcard? The only thing I got from the school is a postcard with advisement date on it. When I checked my CUNY application it shows that I got accepted, but didn't specify if I got accepted to the program or the school.
