  3. Hi Lyttlemomma, How do you like it so far?? Any advise would be much appreciated, I am right now in the background step :).
  4. Hi Everyone, I also got the email that I passed the interview and to move forward with the background investigation!! I live in Escondido near Vista Jail. It would be great to work at Vista but I know there is no guarantee. I am really excited about this opportunity and I hope we all get it!!
  5. Hello, I am also curious to know about working for the San Diego Jail as an RN. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
  6. Oh okay sorry about that.
  7. Hi, the application period is over for this year. Did you apply back in April? If so you should here if you were accepted for the scholarship by September 30. Otherwise you can apply during next years open application period.
  8. Hi Everyone, Congrats to everyone who has received emails!! I am still waiting to hear if I got it....has anyone from Nevada received an email?
  9. Hello Everyone, I have 5 former transcripts and scanned all of them, however the application will only except 1 page. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just send my current Nursing transcript? Any advice or information would be much appreciated! Thank you!
  10. Thank you so much! I have the Saunders book, I will start doing practice questions on that asap.
  11. Thank you so much eagles wings! Do you remember the CD's that you studied by chance?
  12. Hello Everyone, I took the ATI today and received a level 1. I did all the practice exams and skimmed through the book and still only managed to get a level 1. I felt the test itself was a lot harder than the practice tests for Fundamentals. Is there any advice you can offer me on how to improve to a level 2? I take this exam again next semester and its a gate exam which means I need a level 2 in order to pass and move on to 3rd semester. Any help would be much appreciated :). Thank you!
  13. Hello Everyone, I am also interested in applying for this scholarship! I am starting a 16 month accelerated BSN program tomorrow :). I do realize if I get the scholarship it will only cover for next summer and on, so I will have to pull out loans for the Fall and Spring. I also have a 0 efc and a 3.2gpa. This scholarship will be a true blessing and would help me out tremendously :). Well I will keep a look out for the application. Good Luck to everyone! :)
  14. No problem! Yes, that's the one!
  15. Hi Ms. Harris, I was accepted for October 2011 start! As far as the HESI goes, I recommend you buy the review book, it's also available online, everything you need to know is on it! If you study that you will do well! I didn't study the first time and got an overall of 73% when you need a 75% to get in, so I got the study guide and retook it and got an overall 86% the second time. The only sections that are graded are reading, vocab, grammar, and math (you can use a calculator). You also have to take chemistry, anatomy , and physiology sections, but they don't count those into your score. I got a 60% in those sections. There is no critical thinking from what I can remember. Don't worry about your gpa, mine was a 2.76 and I got in. I think as long as you do well on the HESI and have a minimum gpa of 2.74 you should get in. Call your adviser as soon as your done with the test and she will tell you your overall score. Carie Powers is the Director of Admissions and is very helpful, she will help you with what ever you need! Let me know if you have any more questions, I hope this was helpful, sounds like with your motivation and determination you are just about in :)!
  16. Yes, it's on the Nevada Board of Nursing website under minutes.
  17. I am sure you will get it! You have a great gpa and hesi score! Have you heard from anyone who has graduated from the program?
  18. Hello MHA, I got accepted to July but can not move out there until September, so I will be starting in the October! How was orientation? Have you started school yet?
  19. When are you supposed to find out?
  20. Wow $40,000 a year.....that is pricey! I was just quoted $24,000 a year from Chamberlain, which I am okay with because I will have my BSN in the end :). They accepted 40 transfer credits from my previous college. Yes I did apply for March, however due to financial reasons I had to postpone . I just visited Chamberlain this past week and I really liked the school, advisers, and the area! They seem very organized, and the students had nothing but good things to say :).
  21. Hi Meesshhyyy, I have been taking pre-reqs and gen-eds for the past 4 years in California. I wish I knew about Chamberlain 4 years ago, I would have been graduated by now lol. Are you in a Nursing program at Oregon State and transferring to Chamberlain? Congrats on your hesi score and gpa, you should have no problem getting in. They do not count the chemistry and biology score... so I would not worry about those :). Talk to you soon!
  22. Yes she was my adviser too! I am not sure about areas either. On Thursday I am going to check out Scottsdale, Paradise Valley , and Glendale. I want to find an area that is safe but also inexpensive...so I might have my work cut out for me lol. I will let you know what I find out :). I can't wait to begin this Journey...it has been a long time coming! Talk to you soon! :)
  23. I am going this next Thursday! I will let you know how my visit goes :). Have you found a place to live at yet?
  24. The HESI A2 exam is a Nursing entrance exam. Some schools require it and some require other types of Nursing entrance exams for ex: TEAS or NET. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else! :)
  25. Congratulations on your acceptance! No I still have Econ, Lifespan, Algebra, Stats, Culture, Logic, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology to complete. I am taking those through Chamberlain starting in July with my nursing classes I think beginning in January. Have you already set up appointments with financial aid and the registrar? Look forward to seeing you in July! :)
