  1. Thinking of moving to the coastal area of Va latter this year, it looks like sentra is the big system in this area and was wondering if anyone had some information on RN rates and how the benefits for the system are. Possible areas of works are ED where ive been for the past 7 years or a possible move to cath lab.
  2. I think as long as no medical information was given out such as why they were there to be treated and such then everything should be ok HIPPA wise. Ive worked for 3 ERs and all 3 called the police if someone left with an IV line still in them. As far as the police wanting you to call when he comes back, I think that is fine, but the thing you need to tell the police is, that unless there is a medical reason , the hospital wont be able to make the person stay there and just wait on them. You can call and tell them to come pick him up, but you can keep him there unless there is reasoning, and him having warents are not a valid reason.
  3. I had a woman come to the ED by EMS for feeling "hot" not feverish just hot. EMS informed me that the woman had her heat turned up in her house to somewhere in the 80s. It was summer time in North Carolina. I guess the EMS crew tried to explain to her that she felt hot because her house was like an oven. She didnt belive them and came in anyway.
  4. Ive been thinking recently from relocating from NC to CA, namly the San Jose area, I was wondering what the job outlook for RNs is like out that way and if anyone had any idea on what kind of pay rate i may expect. I have 6years exp as a ED RN and plan to stay in that field, also i have been a weekender for the last 4 years and was wondering if any of the hospitals in that area had that type of program and if anyone knows how it pays. Thanks for any help.
