  1. cAMP is a second messenger, and second messengers have "cell-specific" effects; the increase in Ca++ in one cell doesn't necessarily mean that this is true in other cellular environments.
  2. Sigma...short answer to your statement/question...Yes, Dr Eger does advocate heavily for DES...He basically invented the product and is doing his best to market it....Despite his vested interest in one particular agent, he is still the world authority on IA's/U&D...I agree w/ the others as to the pros/cons of each agent...There is definitely a place for DES in everyday practice, while as a whole I don't find it to be more/less superior than the other VA's
  3. The advantage would be more in caring for the sick pt (multiple vasoactive drips, PA cath, etc.) than the acutual mechanics of operating the IABP....
  4. Know your vasoactive drugs...This is a fairly straightforward, clinical based interview...
  5. Surgeons have historically been a proponent of nurse anesthesia throughout the struggles of the establishment of the profession.
  6. Moving August 1...try to settle in a bit early and get a feel for the area.
  7. Great question INTHEBLOOD...was wondering the same myself. I have also read some of the discussions about voice recorders for lecture and PDA's with such capabilities. Let me know where your shopping leads you...
  8. When are all of you future TCU students relocating to FW?
  9. Also starting Fall'04...Just arrived back home from FW where I was able to find a place to live and get a few of the essentials squared away. I plan on moving in around the first of August.
  10. TCU also...August is not getting here fast enough!
  11. I interview at TWU later this month and am also apprehensive about how to prepare for the interview. Everyone I have talked to says "just basic stuff you should know." I really don't like that answer, but it seems consistent. They have also said to be quick to admit ignorance if they try to baffle you...
  12. I interview at TCU next week...excited but a bit apprehensive about what to expect. Do you have any idea about the size of the class they plan on accepting?
