  1. HUGE CONTRATS TO YOU!
  2. yes, 1st letter 7 weeks 6 days after test date, no license info, just letter saying i passed exam but dca was finishing their investigation on my conviction record. and that i would be notified as soon as the investigation was completed with the decision as to whether they are granting issuance of my license. then 7 days exact i got the good stuff, determnation letter, exam center photo nclex-pn result letter, with licensure directions. total time waiting for a 'yes i am getting my passed and get a license' 8 weeks 6 days- then 10 days til my license was posted on site, and 14 days total to have the pretty little white card in my hot hands -
  3. :pntrghi:in DCA letter after ....(they have to finish their investigation) ....did say (to the determination the decision of whether they are going to issue your license)? ....not sure if every investigation case is the same or the time frame, can only tell you my story... i got the same letter about finishing the investigation, one week later, 7 days exact- i got the determination letter in that letter was the "official testing center picture included Pass results" (it's really neat to get that so enjoy it when you do) the letter stated they had finished their investigation.......and their determination as to if they are granting the issue of license.....also enclosed in that letter was information that my result info was passed on to BVNPT, and directions for sending off for license. Good luck, breath - you will be fine CA is just the land of 'patience' i guess......the saying "that which does not kill us makes us stronger" - Take nothing for granted and cherish everything you have worked so hard for....:up:you will get it.... I will say in advance, CONGRATS NURSE! don't run to mail box on the 7th day- same day you received the last letter days, it will be there hopefully sooner. :hpygrp: Please respond to this and let me know the outcome....trust me...I feel the pain! It was horrible but it did pass.
  4. it took them exactly 7 days from my initial "you passed letter". :down:did you get the actual "photo testing site nclex-pn PASSING letter with your photo on it ? OR just a Letter from DCA saying "you Passed letter" the exam but they have to finish their investigation..... letter???
  5. NurseCubanitaRN2b did you take the PN or RN exam? From what I have seen posted, and followed the NCLEX-RN wait period seems to be shorter than the PN. Personally, I took NCLEX-PN, in Anaheim- April 2nd, took exam June 3rd, results-sat mailed check for license mon 6/5 June 15th posted on BVNPT June 19th ACTUALLY HAD MY LICENSE IN MY HAND my agony was 8 weeks, 6 days for results 11 weeks TOTAL for me.... I hope all you waiting don't have that wait.....GOOD LUCK FUTURE NURSES! and those who haven't taken the exam - breath and good luck to you, you can do it!
  6. still waiting, i was right there with you, don't be worried, believe and trust. it took 8 weeks - 6 days for me to find out, test date was 4/2 and my official results 6/3 ca / pn test taker. good luck all, i can totally feel and relate to your pain.............
  7. not sure if you have received a reply, board works monday thru thursday every week, off the 1st, 2nd and 3rd friday of the month, and full monday thru friday last weeks, i had the most questions also, took my test 4/2 and didn't get official results until 8 weeks, 6 days later 6/3 but did get a letter the week before at 7 weeks 6 days saying i passed, then the license part came the following week with OFFICIAL nclex pass results. also did PVT but not til after about 5 weeks, it worked for me, and i did pass but had one heck of a loooooooooong wait. also in CA, sent my license funds in and still am waiting on my license good luck,
  8. :bdyhdclp: congratulations 4sunshines Happy nurisng to you
  9. I will jump in here - graduated in September 09/LVN- CA took test 4/2/10, 3rd career change in 7 years time- after 8 weeks and 6 days in California- am waiting another 3-4 weeks for actual license...and will working and getting those pre-req's right along side many on way to BSN - My 4 children are young adults, will be taking some of the same classes as our Twins (and the middle children). One never knows what may happen in their career. The changes in our lives have been major, yet i could not be more content in this moment - Childhood dreams 'can' become reality ...............when that Dream actually becomes Real................... all i can say is ....for me it was /is Destiny! Great forum! Great posts! Even better support!!! may everyone find their calling.
  10. hello all on this forum who were there when i was loosin my direction in 'limbo land' - for those who are still tracking- 4/2/10 exam date-The PVT worked for this California, NCLEX-PN test taker. It took me 2-3 days to get the nerve to take the trick steps...I had a smile, and that helped me for a day, until the wait again got me....To each his own, and to those who just need a little trickle of some sort of answer...I had that for a little while and it helped me for a tad...HOPE when the wait is sooooooooooooooooooooo agonizing...i heard about the trick through this site, after a five weekish wait was already under my belt. it was a great breath of fresh air for me... i said i would post for those CA - lvn test takers.....7 weeks 6 days later- May 27th, i recv'd letter in the mail...I PASSED! and had near 300 questions and was in there close to 3 hours... i did not get my license application however with the letter.... so for anyone out there that get's an envelope a little light.. have courage...another wait period, just another walk in the park...(yeah right, but it helped to do that) The count was at 8 Weeks, and another 6 days exactly one week to the day (Thursday) June 3rdI recieved the official, you passed,.and send your monies with the enclosed licensure application to BVNPT, (and wait another 3--4 weeks).....So Saturday it was sent to Sacramento - certified (so i have a better day to count from now... breath. believe, trust, have faith - NCLEX-PN test takers in California........The days that go by 2 - 50's does not have any pattern on pass/fail, nor does the amount of questions. I left that test center in a complete 'omgosh' daze- not knowing what had just happened. The twilight zone i had been in for months is now lifting and focus, strength and that driving force you all have inside you will be yours again. Thanks to all - This forum helped me through thw worst at the end. Now for the next leg of this journey- I will return when my NCLEX RN comes close.... Good luck. and this too shall pass. and so will you!

  19. today- my update- (for quick reference) ca resident/nclexpn exam date was on 4/2/10 still no results- 7 weeks, 2 days or 51 days- i tested for 3 hours which seemed like 30 minutes and my questions kept going and going....with the extra's they include, i would have to honestly say i could have sworn i hit 300. found out about the pvt 3 days ago- tried it after having to search for the guts to do so- and it still took me over an hour as i was fearful of jinx- i am living in the twilight zone and having out of body days- 2nd major career change 1st 5 years in executive administration 5 years as senior loan processor/underwriter for major builder in so california and in final company layoff- and on unemployment until a month ago enrolled in lpn to bsn program 4 months prior to graduating- now........................today i want to share the 'motivational' inspiration quote's for today- and with this.......the smile is back on my face, my fire is egnited on high- and we will be nurses!!!! enjoy!!! "you're never a loser until you quit trying." ~mike ditka "success is not measured by what a person accomplishes, but by the opposition they have encountered, and the courage with which they have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds." ~orison swett marden :yeah::clown::) please post and let us all know results and if the pvt worked for you - i would love to know! thank you all and here's to all of us reaching for the stars!
  20. today, update for quick reference- ca resident/nclexpn exam date 4/2/10= still no results- 7 weeks, 2 days 51 days i am living in the twilight zone and having out of body days- 2nd major career change 1st 5 years in executive administration 5 years as senior loan processor/underwriter for major builder in so california and in final company layoff- and on unemployment until a month ago enrolled in lpn to bsn program 4 months prior to graduating- now........................today i want to share the 'motivational' inspiration quote's for today- and with this.......the smile is back on my face, my fire is egnited on high- and we will be nurses!!!! enjoy!!! 22. RN....yes- I've heard about the BRN - but see, i took nclex pn- don't know of any "board" to check.... i should have stated that in my post, sorry-
  23. to all above posts re pvt and ca/ i said good luck meaning- good luck to all- and i really don't know if it works in ca, i pray it does- i've been waiting 6 weeks and today makes 7days (or 7 weeks) if again, the mailman brings no letter from Sacramento... I am in the same boat as all those waiting...i took PN, not RN though and i don't know what difference that makes. I know that when i finally found out what the pvt was, how to do it, and got the courage to try...it took me over an hour to complete the process for fear it would let me register again and pay...it did not.....i got the good pop up, and fell right to sleep finally.... the boards are closed today, so again i can do nothing but continue the wait, there is no site for me to check my name for LVN, and Monday won't come fast enough to make the call (once again, I have to work up that courage for what ever response may be on the end of the phone wire)... so...just keep the faith, believe in yourself, and keep telling yourself "this too shall pass". I felt as if I had not studied what was on the test, the questions were nothing like practice to me in the moment, and i too went past 265 closer to 300 i think with the 'extra questions' included. i do believe i maxed out and got every question possible..... Til later....., a very frustrated, exhausted future nurse -(preferably near er future - rather than later future that is)
  24. Can totally relate! Good luck to you also!
