  1. I wouldn't expect much more from a woman that was responding to being "chatted up", you aren't hanging out in a bar when you're doing this are you?
  2. It isn't any harder than the sac city main campus program, it's just faster, the work load is the same, in fact, it is an identical program, in my experience a 4.0 doesn't seem to matter so much with this program, however there was talk of going back to a grade based admission system. As it stands you need a B in your sciences (A&P, microbio, etc) so not too hard. The sac city main campus is a lottery, they put your name in a computer pool and maybe it gets drawn maybe it doesn't, the next enrollment period you get put in twice so your odds increase...I don't think your name goes to a 3rd round. Your best bet is to contact the dean of nursing there and get the scoop from her.
  3. I'm in the sutter "extended" program which is a joint effort of sacramento city college and sutter to get more nurses out there and working. Let me tell you how it is in the extended program, we start with 55 students 1st semester and 2nd semester there are 43 left, it is fast and intense (16 months) so if you have a lot of family obligations or other time consuming ventures you may want to think about it, I am not kidding when I tell you it is hard. Good points are it's fast, they pay tuition and if you make it you will most likely have a job right after NCLEX, you can find out more at http://www.scc.losrios.edu/ browse for nursing. good luck. note: the sutter extended and the sac city nursing programs are different in length, I think it's important to know this as sac city is longer and more "established" the extended campus defers to them.
  4. That day never really comes in my experience, the more you make the more you spend.
  5. Sad the first thing out of your mouth is "pop a pill".
  6. If you don't understand, and can not write or read english, why would anyone want you nursing them?
  7. Even if it doesn't work out you're young enough to change to something else. Trust me there is nothign worse than being 50 years old and wondering "should I have gone for it?"
  8. But take a look at the success ratios of AA and *any* other program...AA wins. But saying you're religious or belive in God does nothing to stop you from drinking..only action not words.
  9. I know that you can have a PHD and still be flipping burgers and some guy that can barely speak can get to the top (look at Bush) but I always remind myself in this life of increasing competition of a little saying I heard from a Klingon "the higher the fewer"... So the more education in a field in demand means you have less competition. Hmm when I ran spell checker on "Klingon" it gave me Clinton...
  10. most are not like that but the catch is you really have to look for a group that fits you...personally I couldn't stand the singing and churchy stuff but I think a person addicted to going to church (or AA) is better than being addicted to drugs or alcohol (even if it is annoying)
  11. in sacramento, i think this looks like a good career (i'm 42) for 2 reasons, i can make decent money and it offers me a chance to actually give back to life, as corny as that sounds it's become more important to me the older i get.
  12. A.A. works, religions do not (think about it)
  13. I'm sure I could find this on google but I want some feedback, as I understand a nurse practitioner is a masters in nursing therefore "above" an RN. Is this the case? does being a NP open more doors?
  14. How old was his member? (just a joke)
  15. usually when someone adds a smiley it's meant as a joke.
