The most comfortable Nursing Shoes
Many nurses wear crocs, but we have had two nurses break their ankles, cause you slip on water on the hospital floor. It is foam, not a rubber grip. Personally many wear the New Balance and I do too. Love them, comfortable right out of the box. They clean very easily too.

What's in a name?
My hospital is just a basic area name with the word medical center after it. I think any building that looks like a hotel with medical in it is a safe bet that it is some form of a hospital. I have not seen the word hospital used in years. Everything is "_____" Medical Center. The way it goes I suppose.

Pay Raises
Raises, you will be lucky to get a raise in many hospitals. Most hospitals that I have worked for are cutting back big time on the raises. They know that if everyone is doing the same thing, then where are you going to go? The medical field is a roller coaster, one year the hospital is doing great, the next it is going downhill. Take the punches as it goes and be happy you have job is what we go by.

what do you regret?
I do not have any regrets from nursing school. It was a wonderful experience and I would do it again in a minutes notice. Mistakes you learn from and all the experience is something to gain to your knowledge base.

MY OPINION......
My facility does not allow smoking at all on their property. There is no smoking allowed even in your car. This is a great thing. It has made a lot of people look at their smoking habits and make a positive change. Over 50% of the smokers have openly admited they gave up smoking and are living a more healthy life. Congrats to people who take a situation like that and put to something good.
