hello neuronrn: i commend you for doing such great research as part of your decision process on where to advance your nursing education. in response to your post..... [color=#a52a2a]preceptors umdnj recognizes that finding preceptors certainly can be a challenging process for our students and most other nursing schools. to address this, we are in the process of hiring a clinical placement coordinator to help secure clinical sites and enhance the working relationships among all parties. we also have a student-run advanced practice mentoring group where more experienced students (mentors) are matched with incoming graduate students according to specialty. finding and working with preceptors is one of the topics consistently addressed by this group. "All applicants need to apply to either the full time accelerated BSN program or to the part time BSN program. Hello All, I thought I would take a moment to respond to the latest comments on this thread. CITY OF NEWARK. Yes, the City Newark has all the problems associated with most U.S. urban centers, however it has lots to offer as a major center of higher education as wells as history, culture, entertainment and more. Plus, you'll interact with folks from all types of ethnic and cultural backgrounds--a great preparation for nursing practice in today's increasingly diverse healthcare environment. NEWARK CAMPUS. The Stanley Bergen Building (SSB), home of the School of Nursing on the Newark campus, formerly was a hospital (Martland Medical Center) and was built in 1958. In addition to the School of Nursing, this 15-story building also houses the School of Health Related Professions, and various administrative and clinical offices. Inside the building, the School of Nursing offers a fully-equipped computer lab, and "smart classrooms" with teleconferencing, microphones, plasma screens and audience response technology. Our health assessment and simulation lab include very advanced learning tools including a brand-new IStan simulated patient, one of the world's top computer-assisted manikins. The Newark campus also has a great library, a new onsite fitness center and more. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our goal is to provide the very best service to applicants and students.
