Does the school I choose impact my resume?
I've been in nursing leadership for many years, and the only thing I'm interested in is whether the school is accredited or not. If a nursing school in my area gained a reputation for cranking out unprepared nurses, I would give it more thought. Cost has nothing to do with it.

New grad, Bored.
You might also want to consider getting involved with a professional nursing organization. It might not help your engagement while at work, but it's great for networking and finding out what else is available in your area. It also looks great on a CV, which I predict you will be wanting before too long.

RN-MSN program at Aspen University
Aspen is obsessed with APA format. I'm pretty sure my current professor doesn't even read my papers, she just corrects the APA format. If I'm going to publish, I'll pay someone to check to see if my periods are outside my brackets!

Yes, 1500 words. Sorry.

RN-MSN program at Aspen University
I'm in the BSN to MSN program. It's all self-learning - read, write a 1500 page paper, answer two discussion questions per week and reply to two classmates. That's the routine, each week. The professors will answer questions if you ask, but they don't actually teach you anything, it is all your own reading and research. You get out of Aspen exactly what you put into it.

can dieticians write physician order?
No, RDs can't write orders and can't take telephone orders from a physician (even for diets).

Silly SNF/Subacute Question
Subacute is a higher acuity than most typical SNF units. In California, Subacute units are licensed as Skilled Nursing Facilities, but they have more stringent staffing requirements under Title 22. Our contract with the state says that staff assigned to Subacute cannot have additional responsibilities during the shift on any other unit.

Low Census??
