I am in Nursing School at Laboure College, I am going through my Gen Eds right now but I want to gain experience from now and start working in a hospital setting so when I do go through clinicals I am familiar and not nervous or anything.. Whats the best way to go as far where to look for work? Should I get my CNA first and then look for work? Should I wait until I start doing rotations then look for work? Should I look for work now and where should I look into?? Really excited about being in Nursing School just want to be exposed to it from early! Thanks!:)

I know it is a ways out there but do remember you are employed so its not like you dont have a job, you get paid while you train and work and after training you do have a job I go to Laboure

i would suggest finding out if you can transfer those and would it be worth it if you cant!

jm1988, I am taking my gen eds by choice. Once you take your A&P you and a few others you can start your NUR100 if it is the year you acceptance letter states.... meaning if you get accepted and it says something along the lines of youve been accepted into School of Nursing for 2011 or something thats when you can start your career courses so my advise is do all the gen eds you can! There are trimesters so it gives you more time to get more done.... most of the classes are only taken for a semester anyways. Oh by the way be prepared to be ****** that you cant transfer any A&P or MICRO grades from another school! I dont think it was hard to get into, just a somewhat long process (needing to take a placement test andif youve been out of school for a while, things on there you wouldnt remember which puts you in remedial classes which I in the end tested out of)

HR at St. Patricks Manor.... The facility that offers the 'free' CNA training.. What it is is you train while you work. They do give the same certification as the Red Cross would... It lasts for 3 weeks, 4 days a week (8am-4pm). The only way they offer it is by popular demand (SO PEOPLE APPLY SO WE CAN HAVE ANOTHER TRAINING BEGIN). im hoping to hear back from them really soon!!!! Where are you MA nurses located? and what schools do you/did you go to? Im in Boston

I know Im quite late on this reply but I did speak with someone from HR and it indeed is free, you train while you work! A class started today 3/1/10 and they may have another in the spring depending on the interest of the people! SO why not give it a shot!! Im going to go apply this weekend!:)

I would like to know what is the name of the exam that is Caribbean wide in order to become licensed to work in the Caribbean? Ive looked everywhere online and cant find it!!! PLEASE HELP! Thanks (Im looking to move to Bdos to practice)
