So the NP and PA applications are the same it's a dual program. The application process is a bit intense but since it was the first year they were rolling out this new program, I think they were still trying to iron out all the kinks. I've been a nurse for 6 years, and my GPA wasn't that great in undergrad either, but I have quite a lot of international volunteer work on my resume so I think that helped. Sorry to hear, but yeah you shouldn't just settle on a degree sounds like you made the right decision! Did you hear today and did they email you? I still have not heard anything! As you can see from my instantaneous reply to this thread I am still obsessively checking my email and waiting...

I applied to the FNP track at SF state and they told me on monday that we would be notified in 7 days through email, here's hoping! SFSU is my first choice as well as I'm from the bay and prefer to stay in the city. However I also got into the UC Davis FNP/PA program so I will be starting that in June if I don't get into SFSU. Good luck to you as well, I am also obsessively checking my email!

Yeah I agree, the nurses in the Bay area are paid extremely well, and the working conditions are good. So many people are trying to relocate here.... It's almost a $30 an hour difference between Southern California(ie: In SF I make $60 an hour on night shift, while my sister in SD makes $35)

I am currently working in San Francisco, and I can tell you that there are NO jobs here, alot of new grads are moving out of the area to find jobs... It seems that the situation is better in Southern California, as I have had a few friends relocate there for jobs..... Hope this helps!
