  1. Thanks for the help! :)
  2. Hello all, Just found out I will be starting in oncology. I am right now in GI/Colorectal surgery, so needless to say if it isn't colon cancer I am not too shy of clueless. I need a handy reference book, maybe a quick read, that will help me with what I need to know from patients, chemo, radiation, labs, ect. PLEASE any advice is helpful!
  3. I a LPN who just recieved her RN was offered 25.75 to start.
  4. Oops sorry I'm answering on my phone and couldn't see the whole screen, that was someone else who said they were accepted.
  5. Oh I thought u said they would except u this fall? I know they really need people so I would talk with the director of the program. They do not have anything for spring.
  6. No the nursing 101 is the only class for fall once ur already in the program. It's 3 credits. The sciences are chem1 and chem2, a&p1 and a&o2, and microbiology.
  7. Well the first semster is pretty much online. The second semester is 8 weeks class and clinicals then the rest online. The summer semester is all online. The fall and spring are I think like 2-3 days a week. Not to bad. I hope to see you on Wed 8/24. It's our first meeting
  8. Apply to everything! If you get in you can move around after a year. One year is not so bad in a department that isn't your first choice. CCF has amazing benefits. As a LOT of people apply here your cover letter and resume really need to stand out.
  9. Guess not I met with the school last week. I am quite happy first semester is 1 day, second semester is 2 days for 8 weeks (then the rest online), summer is online, third semester is 2 days, and so is the fourth. NOT TO BAD !!!! Only problem is their are only 5 applicants and they can not have all of the class in Medina unless there are 8 I believe. Some of my classes may be at Lorain's main campus.
  10. Maybe they have? I was hired in early 2010.
  11. That is very untrue. I had no experience at all. I'm pretty sure I'm at the bottom of the payscale.
  12. I'm in I start Fall 2011!! Anyone else?
  13. I was hired as a new grad during a freeze. I applied to EVERYTHING at CCF that I could, and made my cover letter really stand out. I'm in lpn-rn program right now. Does ANYONE know the starting salary for RN?
  14. http://www.lorainccc.edu/Academic+Divisions/Allied+Health+and+Nursing/Allied+Health+and+Nursing+Programs/LPN+to+RN.htm Check out the website. Also there is no enterance test, and the college 101 class won't apply to you. All of my tri-c credits transfered no problem. A lot of the course work is online which is very nice, a friend of mine is in the program now and likes it a lot. The counselor's name is Eddie Hensen.
  15. I found a very good job as an LPN NOT in a LTC or assisted living. I don't work weekends, evenings, or holidays. My employer routinely hires LPNs and will foot the bill for me to go back for my RN. If you're already in the program I would stick with it. You can always bridge later, just remember some schools require a year of working experience to bridge.
